C'mon, NCor, do you really think I'd be talking about the White House, the most obvious of all places?

?

The question is:
19..In 1951 Truman gives the 1st transcontinental TV speech, speaking from..?

Since you stated 1951 then of course you are not talking about the 1947 transmission from the White House. However, I have to believe when the president speaks on television it is transcontinental. Therefore his transmission in 1947 is the first transcontinental televized transmission. However, I am in a mellow mood. Therefore, President Truman's 1951 transmission was the first televized transcontinental speech. His 1947 transmission was the the first
televized transcontinental plea. Please take more care with your wording. :)

Please see the quote and link http://www.digitalhistory.uh.edu/news/newspapers2.cfm :

Headline: Truman Calls On Nation To Forego Meat Tuesdays, Poultry, Eggs Thursdays
Date: 10/5/1947
Description: in the first televised White House address, President Truman asked Americans to refrain from eating meat on Tuesdays and poultry on Thursdays to help stockpile grain for starving people in Europe.

19..Do not be distracted by NCor's misleading, but, um, mellow exposition. Still on the floor is the city in 1951 in which Truman broadcast.

2..Answer so far is too high up.

5..Australians

7..The songs, folks, which you know.

8..Georgians are not happy.

18..Kelly _________, and she has recorded.

20..As an event for Indies, Sundance is not really BIG time. It is, though , a western hemi city.

22..For part of the time, he was really high.

23.."I hold out my hand and I touch love."

Oh wise and wonderful Wire Chief, I bow before your superior knowledge! :( In 1947 there did not exist the infrastructure for transcontinental television transmission. In 1951 it required a then-state-of-the-art microwave technology from AT&T. I am humbled (well kinda). :D

G'day, you cogitating folks; time to finish up.

1..NCor & tidepool would have you,"Remain in your seats". What they're planning, I do not know.

2..Alberta & Saskatchewan

3..Highwaymen with "Michael", the guy rowing his boat ashore. VAUC & UPink.

4..Kibitzer & the newly-partially-humbled NCor with Catalan.

5..Try this: the meatless meal is a vegemite sandwich.

6..Marmalade (& Crow), NCor's favorite dish.

7..Lazy, lazy, lazy..."Marie is only ? years old.. PLUS "My traveling companion is ? years old, a child of my 1st wife." EQUALS ?

8..GEORGIANS ARE UNHAPPY, BECAUSE THE CONTEST IS IN A BREAKAWAY PROVINCE(?).

9..Rep leads 3 in citing Saab.

10..At least crown got "Leslie"...Lawson is her surname.

11..It is Zagat, proclaim Kib & rep.

12..Kib & UPink with Tony Bennet.

13..NCor & Meyers with AZT.

14..Former Surgeon General, Pinot & VAUC remind us.

15..Four of you did well here; Indonesia has more Muslims than any other nation also.

16..Egypt is correct & NCor's got it.

17..Clermont--Pinot lacking Spellchek.

18..Kelly Clarkson will do it. Credit to geordi & Meyers.

19..Geordi identifies Frisco.

20..Toronto

21..NCor with folic acid.

22..What would make him real high in 1830? A balloon ride over the Hudson, for one.

23..Leo Sayer--YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE DANCING. If a song is not too old, Meyers knows it.
(My hint of another Leo Sayer song led geordi all astray.)

24..Ike--NCor tapped him.

25..Taking the forebrain leap is replicant with Morley Safer.

From the preceding test, no one has filled in, a _____ mal is better than a _____ mal.

Fairview, it's been awhile. Hope this doesn't signal posting problems. Anyway, crownfox has already caused me to acknowledge a flaw and now you.
Every time I heard about the guy who was 6'4''and full of muscles, I heard "Brazil", not Brussels. So you do get credit for MEN AT WORK.
But it's Down Under, not Who Can it Be Now?
And otherwise you have 8 correct.
