Let me tell you, Tara King was quite well received by the young men watching the Avengers.

Good afternoon to both the daft and the adroit.

1..Yes, it's a bird, nesting high in the Redwoods and fishing in the Pacific. Quoth the geordi.

2..Unstoppable, which Meyers and I saw 3 times.

3..Not in your newspapers, unless you are Tidepool---Stone Soup.

4..Ruffian identifies Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, though he's lazy about typing.
From the Terrace.

5..At least 4 of your spare tires are due to ice cream. The Cherry Garcia flavor of ice cream.

6..Conservative, Liberal and New Democratic--Kibitzer also as lazy typist.

7..Who are these pretenders you send me? This is a Stylistics hit, as VAUC attests.

8..Taro works; three gourmets herre.

9..Ladies Professional Golf Ass. of America Hey, geordi & VTC, I gave you the initials, so why do you parrot them back?
Kibitzer, Ruffian & NCor stretch their skills and spell it all out.

10..Ruffian & VTC are most complete. Let it Snow, Let it Be, Let it Be Me.

11..What, you have trouble with "plaque"?????

12..You want a hint? "mal"

13..Ruffian, VTC & Meyers know what it takes to be a wet blanket. They can't come to my house anymore.

14..Arnie's army, golf course trudgers--seven of you.

15..Rbny & NCor with Dreamboat.

16..To the stern, a quartet here.

17.. the dreamy "adagio". starting with Phil, 4 respondents.

18..Jews in Paris deported to Nazi Germany.

19..Corialanus, Crownfox gives his best, when others are silent.

20..The Andrew Sisters, as several know.

21..Two of our brightest, ed4 and rbny, point to Franklin Pierce.

22..Ruffian's Finland is best, but VTC's Russia is acceptable.

23..Gee, NCor, were we doing the same thing at 9:00 last night?-- "Hathaway"
(And what's with the "Up's"?)

24..You could stop at Pinochhio, illustrating the compact time period of the given 4, NCor.
But let me not discourage your add-ons.

25..Despite Waquoit in heat, I'm here to salute Emma Peel, the queen of the lot. Oh, yes. John Steed too.

I leave you with #12.

My ex's Swedish grandmother Gundborg Olsen (Betty) would emphatically tell anyone that would listen that the Finns are not Scandanavians. If you look at any ethnic map, the Finns are actually classified as mongoloid rather than causazoid. They are fair haired folk with blue "slanted" eyes. They are a strange lot. Drinking and fighting are their two favorite pastimes

Betty told me one Thanksgiving that I was making the gravy "too tick." I said "Betty, better too tick dan too tin." She then proceeded to pour potato water into it. When the aquavit came out she could drink all the youngsters under the table. God rest her soul.

#22 - Just picking a nit here but you should check a map. I'm pretty sure that the Novaya Zemyla archipeligo is considered part of the European continent. It's been a while but the last time I was there the Russkies owned it. It is well north of the northernmost part of Finland.

Ruffian - I just finished reading an interesting WIKI entry on the Finnish people. I wanted to make sure they weren't of Scandanavian origin :). Unfortunately, WC is correct.

VTC, the reason Finland is a more worthy choice is that the farther-north reality of Russia is less important than the contiguous nature of Finland to the actual Scandinavian nations, and that people are not sure about Finland's inclusion.. That makes it a decent question. Just about nobody thinks Russia is Scandinavian.
