A friend of mine’s wife has battled many medical conditions over last few years. She is a huge men’s hoop fan and her daughter is surprising her with tickets for Friday’s game.

Where is the best place for them to park? The parking garage next door to Gampel or is there a better place. Thanks in advance.

Go Huskies!!!!

I believe the lot next to Gampel is for season ticketholders only. I'd try calling UC and ask them, maybe they can hook you up with something.

Day-of-Game Parking Options

There are a number of options for day-of-game parking, including the North Garage, Lot Y/Z, Lot N, Lot I East and Lot I West. Please note, cash is only accepted at certain lots.
  • North Garage – pay upon arrival with the Flowbird or PayByPhone parking apps on your smartphone or by using the kiosks in the facility.
  • Fans parking in Lot Y/Z, Lot N, Lot I East and Lot I West will pay cash upon entry.
  • ADA accessible parking spaces are located within the North Garage and South Garage. For more information, please visit UConn Office of Institutional Equity at accessibility.uconn.edu/visitors.

Without a parking pass for the South garage they will not be able to get in. Perhaps someone on the Boneyard could help with a pass.

This is incorrect, if you have a handicap parking pass you are allowed into the South garage on game day. Have the parking pass up as your approaching the arena so that you're waved through the intersection by the ice rink. Once in South garage you take an immediate left inside the garage and the handicap parking is available there at the first level of the garage. All you have to do is walk across the street to get into gampel from there. I've done it multiple times this season. If you don't have handicapped tickets there's a limited number of tickets that you can switch out inside the stadium on game day. Get there early and there should be plenty of handicap parking in South garage and extra handicapped seats. The handicapped ticket switch out is limited to 2 total tickets the handicapped seat and the handicapped companion seat. If you need more tickets together you should buy handicapped specific seats talk more with the ticket office about that. Handicapped seats are at the top of the lower bowl at the walkway level so they're great seats to watch the game and easy access for the handicapped.

Foamdome, we have had friends with a handicap pass turned away from the South garage on game day because they did not have the season pass for parking. They were told to try the North garage.

Never had a problem did it once last year for a Baylor and a few times this year for some of the buy games. Sometimes all the ushers don't know the deal but you tell them you need to get to the handicapped parking they let you through. Only thing that could happen is the handicapped parking is full then that's when they would have to send you to another lot. I arrive an hour or so before tip off when I go to the games looking for handicapped parking to make sure everything runs smoothly.

The spaces on the first level full up quickly so get there early. There are more on the lower floor. Have to use the elevator and getting out from the bottom after the game is not easy.
