Duke has played 178 games without losing two in a row. Nice job.

The Huskies, however, own that stat and are now at 707, spanning nearly 20 years. Amazing! Truly amazing!

I get the feeling it's the only reason we lose now.

There was a mention of our second loss in a row...Louisville. I am almost positive I was at that game. It was in Gampel...very close...mid-70's for both teams. It might have been a first round NCAA game....or possibly the first round of the BE tourney.

From recollection it was a first round NCAA game. Lost in BET, then made NCAA but lost in first round.

I find it interesting to note that some of the members of this year's team weren't yet born the last time the Huskies lost two in a row.

Booyah!! Awesome observation. Surprised we did not hear this last night on the telecast.

Thanks for your corroberation, Phil. During Rebecca's first two years UConn was pretty good but had a zero chance of going far in the NCAA tournament....zero. I'm guessing that their overall record for each year had us losing 10 or 11 games.
Her third year saw Kara Wolters and Carla Berube arriving and the difference was bigtime....lost 3 games all year...with a loss to eventual champ North Carolina in the final 8...at the RAC....with track stud Marion Jones running the point as a frosh for the Tarheels. We would have needed our A game to beat them and we didn't get it done....the athleticism gap was still too large....a gap that was narrowed when Nykesha arrived the next year....35-0!!!

BTW: if Marion had been able to shoot from the outside she would have been a first team AA....a skill way lacking at that point.

Am I correct in thinking that our first game next year is against Stanford?

If so, we will have to win the national championship this year or else the
Stanford game will have some added pressure.

I believe you are correct about the scheduling. I'm not sure the team will feel pressure about that streak, but that scheduling does make it tough. I guess we play Stanford at home or at a neutral site, which will help.

Yes, I doubt the team will even be aware of it. I was thinking more about
my GI tract. I think the game is at home.

Yes, there was an item in the Register that the freshmen and sophomores hadn't been born the last time UConn lost two consecutive games.

Not a chance that it was the BE Tourney - Louisville only joined the Big East in 2003, ten years later.
