PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – The No. 2 Huskies will take on Minnesota Saturday in their first game of the inaugural Battle 4 Atlantis women’s tournament, held at the iconic Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. UConn will then play either USF or Syracuse Sunday with a potential 1-vs-2 matchup against top-ranked South Carolina looming Monday. The Gophers are 3-1, winners of three straight after dropping their season opener to Jacksonville. They followed that with an overtime win over Arizona State.

Here’s the skinny on today's game:

UConn is 2-0 all-time vs. Minnesota. The teams last met on April 4, 2004, in the NCAA Final Four. UConn head coach Geno Auriemma coached Minnesota head coach Lindsay Whalen on the U.S. National Team in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. Whalen was on the Minnesota team that faced UConn in 2004. Bueckers is a native of Hopkins, Minn.

Minnesota moved to 3-1 on the season with a 73-56 win over American Wednesday. Sara Scalia leads the Gophers with 14.5 points per game this season.

I noticed in the brief video up on the UCWBB Instagram page that Dorka is taped up in the thumb area of her right hand.

Hopefully nothing serious. She was scrimmaging, so that`s good.

The team will enjoy Tuesday on the island, with a dolphin excursion planned, and return to Connecticut on Wednesday.

Assume we win: what time is our Sunday game? If we wind up playing South Florida...which I expect...
it will be interesting to see how we do against that traditionally feisty team and how that result compares to
the South Florida at LadyVol game...SF led in the 4th quarter...ultimately lost 52-49. A Boneyarder posted that SF had a couple of quick/flashy guards...our team defense against them should be something to watch for.

So women's college basketball seriously has NO IDEA how to promote itself. THE single most high profile team in the sport is playing in basically a "made for TV" tournament and I have to pay for a fly by night streaming service to watch it ? The same one that couldn't handle streaming First Night ? Are you flippin serious ?

Absolutely mind boggling.
