Gamecocks offering free basketball tickets to federal employees during shutdown

The University of South Carolina athletics department is offering free tickets to men’s and women’s basketball home games for federal employees and their immediate family “for the duration of the federal government shutdown,” the school announced Saturday.

I guess that includes people at Fort Jackson and Shaw AFB, so it could be taken advantage of by some, but most of the people there are from elsewhere. Otherwise, there are probably a few hundred federal employees in Columbia - TSA, IRS, Federal Courts, VA Hospital, etc. I'd expect maybe a couple hundred people may take advantage of it.
