A bunch of great athletes displaying a lack of offensive skill or plan. Poor, poor shooting and shot selection. Did we practice FTs in the off season?

I felt we found our shooting touch - Iowa St. doesn't have the physicality that NC State has, nor the big girl in the middle of the caliber of Elissa Cunane, but still USC found it's outside shooting touch from just about everyone, and shot 13-26 behind the arc. So it was also a lot to do with the team's approach as well.

Still can't understand how we struggled so badly shooting at our own goals and baskets that we practiced against all during pre-season, and then turned it back on in Ames, IA. We were red hot for the first 3 periods - shooting 29-54 (.537), but then fell back into our funk for the final period and shot only 1-9 to close out the game. So there's some definite work to be done with this team.

Guess our next game will be Thursday the 17th, so we'll have an opportunity to work on things....

When you create spacing and move the ball around and take good shots, they tend to go in a little bit more no matter where you are.

Iowa State is not nearly as good defensively as NC State and it is pretty clear that the team got the message in practice as to how bad they looked offensively.

As dramatic a two game difference as I can remember. reassuring to see the bounce back. That's what really good teams are supposed to do after losses.

Carolina is still one of the teams in the hunt. Wouldn't say we're the favorite, but can't rule us out.

Thu. Dec 17 Temple at home- 7:00 SECN

Thu. Dec. 31 Ole Miss at home 6:30 SECN

Not much positive to be proven the rest of the month. Of course, negative could happen

Wish we could slip in a Clemson match on about the 28th/29th

South Carolina looked really good against Iowa State. I don't see anyone challenging them for the SEC title. They definitely play one of the hardest non-conference schedules, which only helps them down the road.

Great stuff from Ashlyn and Malaysia.

Both are must have recruits for SC these next two cycles. I would honestly rather Watkins than Betts. Fulwiley impresses every video.

Cardinal Newman’s other big looks like she’s gonna be playing somewhere in college.

I agree. Looks like her name is Mary Ashley Groot. She had 23 and Watkins had 15. Fulwiley had 33.

I saw that Cardinal Newman was nationally ranked and that came as a surprise. Getting away from Fulwilely and Keenan was pretty impressive, though maybe Keenan isn't quite as strong this year.

I missed that Skyla Tuthill had moved to Columbia to play for Cardinal Newman. She's a likely Top 100 or better in (I think) the 2024 class.

Speaking of the instate '24 class:

So Groot is a 2023 prospect. Very interesting. Might not be in Dawn's prospect mold but she looks pretty good. I think she'll be looked at by some good programs,

#BClayRecruiting: Mary Ashley Groot – College Recruiting Player Profile

Played last year in New York and was listed as a 6-1 forward.Looks like she may have had a growth spurt to 6-3 and moved to Columbia. Has pretty good footwork on offense.

Skyla looks like she grew up in Queens and moved to Rock Hill last year. 3 point specialist this year. She's what: a freshman?

Coach Asia doing some recruiting from New York!

I just watched Fulwiley drop 45 points on the #1 5A team in the State in Clover that also features a phenom Aylesha Wade who scored 33 of her own. The talent rise in this state is incredible. Not only young women but men as well.

Seems like Fulwiley is having to drag Keenan along with her more than was the case the past couple of years.

yes that Is true. She scored 45 of her teams 69 points and Ashari Lewis had 15 so between those two that’s where the scoring come for them.

Just now realized that Skyla was in last Summer's SC Girls Camp.

Look at Game 2 that starts around the 5 minute mark, She had 3 or 4 highlights in a two or 3 minute stretch. Impressive freshman performance. (90% of this video is Fulwiley).
