UConn is definitely doomed.

I googled Provo, Utah and it's at 4,500 elevation. That means the Cougars have been training at elevation in thin, mountain air. Playing at 39' above sea level in East Hartford gives them a huge advantage. This is a bigger obstacle to overcome than when the basketball team had to play against SDSU in the NCAA tourney a few years ago.

Yeah, but we got the mullet.

Oh yeah. It really helped them last year vs. Virginia week 1.

"while adaptation to high altitude makes you better at high altitude it hasn't proved useful for making you faster at sea level. There is a lot of mysticism that surrounds the belief of enhanced sea-level performance after altitude training, but the current scientific evidence is lacking. The reason is that some of the adaptive responses at high altitude are actually a hindrance at lower altitude. As more research is done then perhaps a training regimen that shows definitive improvement will emerge. The best advice as of 1994 is that high-altitude training is like "magic shoes" -- If it works for you then wear them."

Unless they wear their "magic shoes", it's actually the Cougars who are DOOMED! Mush on Huskies!

Hey Chin, they have their own concerns. Having lived out west in the mountains for 8 years many years ago, it is cool most of the time and the heat is dry. It's not humid. The BYU players have an adjustment for the humidity...it's wicked if you have not experienced it. See the post below from the Deseretnews. They are leaving a day earlier than expected to try and adjust to the time change and humidity we are used to....
In the end, both teams are in great physical shape and neither should be affected once the first hit is made.....

BYU is also 3 hours behind so they will have 3 extra hours to adjust to everything UCONN does on offense and defense.

Doomed. DOOOMED
