Game tonight on Max

All I can say is thank goodness I have not retired. I have all of these subscriptions so I can usually find the UConn games regardless of where they move them. I do plan on retiring in the next year or so and one of the first things I will do to reduce monthly expenses will be to really look at all of the platforms I subscribe to. Comcast, DirecTV, Prime Video with all the extras including HBO Max, Hulu, YouTube TV for football, Apple TV, Disney+,Peacock and I am certain I am missing a few others.

The fleecing of the American sports fan is never ending. My days of taking the family to live games is over. There is just so much you can take. For those of you already retired or not in jobs that allow for what I will call indiscriminate spending I cannot imagine how difficult it must be to find the money just to watch your favorite sports team on TV.

But don’t worry everything is just great with our country. One person is set to make more money per year than every school teacher in the country combined. Is that as absurd as it sounds or maybe I am missing something.

Maybe radio will make a comeback as you can usually find the audio only fairly cheap if not for free. Goes back to when I used to listen to the games in the late 70’s or early 80’s because they were not on TV. Now they are on TV and like 10% of fans can afford to subscribe to every platform to watch them. Yeah that sounds like progress.

Just curious since I went on my rant….Fubu the only platform that will not have the truTV access or has it moved completely to HBOmax as I am seeing it still listed on my guide and can’t find that it has been completely removed from truTV.

Damn that’s a lot of subscriptions. You should be able to slim it down and still get what you need.

I'm retired and have all the streaming services needed so I dont miss a game and it is still cheaper than if I just subscribed to cable.
And a lot cheaper than before I moved out of CT where I was paying for season tickets on top of cable.
Now I pick and choose what games to travel for.

Yes I agree, I just kept adding and over the course of time this is what has happened.
 
It is listed on my Tru tv channel guide at 6 PM. And I currently receiving Tru tv content (Black Adam) right now. Is there any reason to believe it will not be on at 6?

Are you saying it won't be on cable either?

I found TruTV on Channel 31 on Cox in Connecticut.

The game is on truTV which is on any cable lineup that has other Warner Bros. Discovery stations such as TBS, TNT, etc.

Someone needs to delete this thread or edit the title. Too confusing.

To maximize utility and minimize expenses with your lineup, I'd go with Comcast (your ISP), Hulu+ Live (your general "cordless cable" which will come with regular Hulu and Disney+, so you can cancel them directly). Peacock is free for you if you "Comcast" is Xfinitt's 1 Gig plan, which sounss like it might. Not sure what the need is that you have for apple TV, but if you have Tmobile you get that service complimentary. Prime Video is "free" if your primary use of Prime is for Amazon and Wholefoods services. Max you can pay for through Hulu+ live or Prime but is $1 cheaper through Prime.

Retain: Prime, Max,
Drop: DirecTV, YoutubeTV, Disney+, AppleTV, Hulu, Peacock
Add: Hulu+ Live
Move: Peacock (Sign-up under Xfinity)
 
I also checked HBOMax and it is listed there. But they have a little sign warning games can be subject to being blacked out.

NOT that this game is blacked out, just a little legal thing.

why do you have all 3 of Comcast, YouTube tv and directv ? Do you just get internet through Comcast and cable through YouTube?
1) if so then why do you also need directv? There’s no reason to have YouTube and directv that I can think of
2) I get internet (and cable) through Comcast and you can added HBo and peacock for big discounts compared to standalone subscriptions. I think peacock is free if you have the top internet package.
3) The Disney bundle includes Hulu and espn so that’s a better deal then paying for Disney and Hulu separately
4) I also have Amazon, Apple, Netflix and paramount+ as standalone subscriptions

Someone should create an app/service where you enter the shows and sports you care about and it creates a plan/schedule optimizing which services to get, when to cancel, and when to rejoin (i.e., when new sports and show/series season start and stop.)

I just said the game was on Max and Fubo will not be showing it. Sorry you don’t understand something that simple.
