Ist half:
How do people like the dimmed lights?
I miss the "Lewis Launch"
Its a Steal/Lay-up Drill
No Replay of action but the camera does pan over to scoreboard, also no close-up of the players
Ekmark zipped a nice pass down to Collier for the layup
The "changes" made no difference in this game except for announcers who couldn't get the timeout situation in order (but thats a season change, not only change for this game... so they'll need some clarification as does the refs)

I ABSOLUTELY cannot stand the dimmed lights! We are sitting midway up the second level and could barely see well enough to safely get down the stairs during a time out to go to the men's room!

If they want it like that while the game is in progress, ok, but could they at least have some lights during time outs, halftime, before the game, after the game?

I asked one of the staffers why it's like this and was told that it is to make the arena more resemble a big time pro venue. Alright, but those places bring the lights up during the times I set out above.

GRRRR!

The arena people also should consider who their clientele is -- let's be honest here -- many of whom are people whose vision isn't quite at the level of people attending MSG and places like that.

I predict this ends once someone gets hurt and sues. When they HAD reasonable lights and removed them, there is no defense to a negligence suit -- the untaken precaution being NOT removing existing lights, which is a no-cost proposition.

Loved the video.........A couple of observations that's been echoed before:

>I was surprised that KLS showed quicker feet on defense than I anticipated. And was a better defensive player than many give her credit for.
>When KLS starts being more consistent on her 3's she is going to be a force on the floor.
>Gabby's quickness on offense is underrated , and her hustle on defense is going to cause some teams problems as well.
>Looks like Collier has muscled up. Or was it the TV camera adding lbs.? Same with Kia.
>Tuck back wearing the brace. That didn't give me a good feeling.
>Stewie was Stewie. Just being her AA self.
> Good to see Courtney get in early.
>What a team this is going to be when Butler, Chong, and DJB get healthy.

>Can't say much about Mo , didn't really see much of her she was moving so fast...:)

I liked the dim lights. Didn't seem that dim to me - tho I didn't go anywhere during the game. I agree that they need to figure out the switches and turn them on at the right times. The music wasn't too loud. Kind of dumb to try to play it at every dead ball as often they only got to play 10 seconds!
Collier looked much better - I love her all-around game. KLS missed some 3's but they were open shots. I suspect she will need more work to integrate into the offense as she was such a shooter in HS. Courtney looked much more confident and got some good playing time. Gabby looked like the starter she was - still a few poor decisions trying to force inside, but overall really, really good. Tuck looked comfortable playing and I hope she keeps the brace as her security blanket (or is it mine?). The other starters looked like they were ready to pick up where they left off and improve from there!

Checking the box score confirmed courtside assumptions.

Moriah Jefferson will be a serious candidate for player of the year...after complaining (too strong...let's say mentioning)
that the larger ball might cause her issues...she was 9 for 12...2 of her misses were beat the clock heaves, one of those a long range tip that might have gone in. She hit layups, pull-ups and three's with consummate ease and her quick darts to the hoop were breathtakingly close to the speed of light. One wonders whether in the less amiable arena of the "W," opponents will solve the problem of her penetration her with brutality. Her sleigh-of-hand steals (6, count-em) were a dagger.

Napheessa Collier quietly fills the stat sheet: 15 points, 11 rebounds; a junior Kiah on the boards but much, much more active on offense. Here's a heretical thought from the wife...a quicker, more athletic version of Morgan Tuck and a better rebounder to boot.

Gabby got her shot blocked or poked out a few times... that scoop is getting old but if they don't get while its down they'll have no chance when it's at its peak

“I’ve probably sat lower in my defensive stance over the last three weeks than I have in my entire life,” said freshman Katie Lou Samuelson, the consensus national high school player of the year. “The offense will come, but if I can’t play defense there is no need for me to be on the court.
