The No. 3 UConn Huskies will play No. 19 Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. for just the second meeting in these two programs’ history. Originally scheduled for 5 p.m., the game will now tip at 6 p.m.

Arkansas (11-6, 2-5) will be UConn’s third ranked opponent of the season, and second from the SEC. The Razorbacks are coming off a tough 75-73 loss at the buzzer to No. 22 Georgia. They have yet to pull out a win over a ranked conference team (losing to Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina and Georgia on the road, as well as Texas A&M at home), but they did manage to beat Baylor, 83-78, early in the season. Arkansas likes to push the pace offensively. The Razorbacks rank fifth nationally in scoring (85.4) and are first in 3-pointers made (158). UConn ranks ninth at scoring (85.1).

  • Unexpected homecoming for UConn's Williams - Carl Adamec
  • Geno Auriemma became just the fourth coach in men’s or women’s basketball to reach 1,100 career wins. The others include: Mike Krzyzewski (Duke), Herb Magee (Div. 2 Thomas Jefferson Univ., NJ), and Tara VanDerveer (Stanford). Auriemma was the fastest coach in men’s or women’s to 800, 900, 1,000 and 1,100. Auriemma is currently 959 games over .500 - only six coaches in Division I women’s basketball have at least 959 total wins.
  • Evina Westbrook is the only player on UConn’s roster over 21 years old. • The last time UConn had no seniors on the roster was in the 2006-07 season. UConn’s 2002-03 team also had no seniors and went on to win the national championship.
  • UConn to wear ‘DEE’ patch - On Jan. 10, 2021, former UConn men’s basketball coach and athletic and institutional ambassador Dee Rowe passed away at 91. Rowe, who was a member of the committee that hired Geno Auriemma in 1985, served UConn for 53 years. The Huskies will wear ‘DEE’ patches on the back of their jerseys for the rest of the season in honor of Dee Rowe’s memory.
