According to a book a few years ago Ray has 4% body fat.

I have a very hard time believing this. Have you ever actually seen someone who is even close to 4%? Thats pro bodybuilding level leaness, and they have extensive strategies to maintain that physique safely and for as short a time possible because it is straight up unsafe to be that low.

Simply put, no he doesn't.

However, Ray is in great shape, and playing 33 minutes in playoff games can attest to that.

I would say that Ray is most likely in the 7-9% body fat range which is outstanding for his age. He's a role model for any athlete that can not accept anything but progress.

I love Ray, and I think his routine adds significantly, mythically, to his legend.

But he is strait up crazy. Awesome, but crazy-awesome.

JESUS!!

Yup, I was talking about this the other day on here. This is why I don't think he'll ever be a coach....just too different. He'd suffocate guys with his neurosis.

Someone told me he might go in to acting. With his obsessive preparation, he could probably make a career out of it.

I heard somewhere that Ray has extremely finely-tuned inner ears that make his balance far more sensitive than most people. He continues to train his inner ears by standing on basketballs - one under each foot while shooting 3 pointers every evening for at least 90 minutes straight.

You don't train your inner ears just like you don't train your eyeballs. You train yourself to centrally respond to the various (in this case, proprioceptive) stimuli presented to those peripheral structures. In Ray's case he's more training his trunk than anything.

What's Ray's next mythical super power beyond healthily maintaining 4% body fat and having superior inner ears?

he got game.

I actually think he could make a fantastic assistant coach but it would take a head coach who could put up with him and be a foil for his craziness. His intense prep could work well in many ways as an assistant. I think he would drive players crazy if he was the head coach though.
