I think her abilty to score has already improved greatly. Nothing makes us fans crazier than watching one of our "guys" miss a layup or a put-back, and without looking for statistical backup (is there such a thing for missed bunnies?) I'm going to say that she is our most efficient player under the boards. Not our best, but she is the one that we can most count on to finish the play if she gets the chance.
Good point.

Funny, this reminds me of the 1964 Holiday Festival semi-final for some reason, #1 Michigan versus Princeton. Bill Bradley finished that night with 41 points, nine rebounds, four assists and defensively, he held the man he was guarding to just one point and came away with a handful of steals. Upon exiting the court, he received a four-minute standing ovation from the 18,499-person sellout crowd at Madison Square Garden. He had been playing point guard the second half and dominated, until he fouled out with 4.5 minutes remaining and Princeton with a 12 (soon 14) point lead. Michigan won.

One good Bill Bradley story deserves another. Mine is excerpted from Bill Russell's book.

"Dollar Bill" graduated from Princeton, studied at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, and later became a US Senator. Between Oxford and the Senate, he starred on the greatest NY Knicks team (o/a '72-'73 with Clyde, Willis, DeBuscherre, and Earl the Pearl).

One night the Celtics and Knicks were engaged in a typically furious battle at the old Garden. Satch Sanders (HoF and 8 NBA rings) was guarding Bradley, who was lighting Sanders up unmercifully.

When someone was about to shoot a free throw, Russ walked across the lane and got right into Satch's face (Bradley lined up next to Sanders).

Russ loudly and angrily demanded: "Can't you guard this M***** duck***!" Bradley's jaw dropped in disbelief.

Whether it was due to Satch's renewed intensity or Bill's state of shock, Bradley's scoring ceased. The Celtics won the game.

I'm feeling old. This was from 50 years ago.

Cazzie was the overall #1 draft pick.

No worries, we're all old:) I snuck into the (new) MSG several times during that 1970 championship season with my crew - basically the CT chapter of the 'Bowery Boys', all of us 10 and 11 years old. The ushers and doormen would intentionally look the other way, but of course we all thought we had pulled off a major action. That was in the bygone era before the world went zero tolerance on everything. Adults in authority found levity in allowing kids to be kids. Talk about the good old days!
