Gabby is awesome

Kia is playing the point guard positions so im sure the starting 5 is set for next year.

Why is it ridiculous?

Perhaps because she may well be at least a second team All American this season and, considering her stunningly upward trajectory, could be in the running for one of the NPOY awards next year.

Yes, Gabby will be "first off the bench" when they're announcing the starting lineup. My English teacher told me never to use the word "awesome" because it is jaded, and never to use capital letters for emphasis because it demonstrates a lack of vocabulary. So I will have to say that Gabby is simply...ah...ah...AWESOME! Sorry, Teach.

All entirely possible and I hope it turns out that way. But it is also entirely possible that Gabby coming off the bench is what is best for next's years team. UCONN has had AA player returning ( Bria Hartley) coming off the bench as recently as 2012-13 season for this exact reason-best for the team. UCONN is going to have at least 1, maybe more, AA (actual or contending) player coming off the bench next year. I'm not sure how anyone can say what is ridiculous or who those player(s) would be. In November of 2014 it was "Ridiculous" that Saniya was not starting over Moriah Jefferson after the Stanford game so I've become rather sensitive to that word.

Agreed, but only because preconceived notions of voters have more to do with AA and NPOY selections than actual current performance. Otherwise she'd be first team AA this year, without the wait, and would be strongly considered for NPOY this very season. Looking at her overall, jaw-dropping contributions in so many facets of the game, I'm pretty well-convinced that she's the number one player in the country...right now! The idea of her coming off the bench either now, or at any future point in her UConn career, well, yes, it is ridiculous!

UCONN is going to have five players better than Gabby? Who would those five players be? Holy Cow! Does WCBB know about this? This can't be good for the game. UCONN is going to be good next season. That means this season's rebuilding has been going well. Have I covered everything? Does Geno still want their butts kicked? Do you think they are as good as TENN on a good TENN day? Can you be an All-American if you are from Canada? Does height matter? Ooooohhhh, I know that last one...... not if you can jump like Gabby. Well, I guess I can't wait for next season. :D

Since we're taking about next year, with Chong's departure (graduation), there will be an opening in the starting line up.
I'm assuming that we all agree that the other 4 starters will be starters again next year. I can't see any of them being supplanted by anyone on the current roster, or next year's anticipated roster. So the question is: Who fills that opening?

Crystal Dangerfield? Azura Stevens? Batouly Camara? Natalie Butler? or one of the incoming freshmen?

My guess at this point is Stevens. She comes in with two years of full time playing experience at Duke, and she'll add much needed height (6'6") to the line up. Come October, she (and Camara) will have had a 16 months to assimilate into the team's fabric via off season team and individual workouts, and in season team practices. She can score from anywhere on the floor. She brings 18.9 ppg. average with her from last year. In my humble opinion, I don't think Geno brought her in to come off the bench. I realize I could be wrong.

Geno has some hard choices to make next season. I'm sure this will be a fervidly debated item of discussion here in the boneyard over the summer. Not to worry. We'll have it figured out for Geno by the time the season begins. :)

I probably shouldn't have used the word ridiculous but the more I watch her I just shake my head at the things she does. I used to think Ashley Battle was the most athletic woman I'd seen and her and Kelly Farris were the 2 best defenders but Gabby is in a league of her own

Gabby is awesome. Food for thought: Gabby has 107 assists in 20 games so far this year. With UCONN's remaining games that projects to roughly 200 for the season at her current pace. Moriah is the UCONN all time assists leader and Sue Bird is the single season record holder. Moriah best year, last year she had 204 assists. That's right, Gabby has a chance to have more assist this year than Moriah had in her best year-pretty awesome.
