In last night‘s playoff game against the Mystics, Gabby showed how valuable she has become to the Seattle Storm. Her stat line was 33 minutes, 7 rebounds 6 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, and 12 points contribution to the win. Gabby began to click in Europe last year and it has continued in Seattle.

Her defensive effort and intensity in that First Quarter was Gabby at her best. She was everywhere on the floor. She's exactly what a team like Seattle needs and she's fit in very well with the other 4 starters, including 3 other former Huskies.

Gabby was one of the exceptional players that Uconn had. When she played she played way beyond her 5' 11" height. With her jumping ability she was the equal of a 6' 5" player. when she was jumping center on the opening tip, I believe she won 95 % of them. In a fantansy world I would have had her cloned every 4 years and make the team. GO HUSKIES!!!

What I learned watching Gabby rebound was that while being tall is an advantage the key is getting your hands on the ball first and Gabby and her quick twitch muscles just beat everyone to the ball.

Wasn't Gabby the first UCONN player to grab 300 rebounds and have 100 steals in a single season? She was always able to be so productive in the other stat categories besides points. :)

There was a great article on Gabby in the News section of WNBA site this morning. Good to see her get the recognition.

Gabby airballed her first 3. Not a good start for her.

Gabby with another great game for Seattle. Unfortunately, she is missing the 4Q; Seattle said she was diagnosed with a concussion. I missed what happened, but she had 14 points prior to that.

But she made all 5 shots and all 4 FTs after that.
Yes. Got to admit I was worried when she airballed her very first shot because Gabby can get negative and lose aggression but she swished 2 FT's quickly and Sue made sure Gabby got nice shots throughout the game

Gabby's defensive intensity will definitely be needed against the Aces. They have so many scorers.
I've seen several Seattle games this year. I think Gabby has defended several players very well. Maybe the players with a combo of size and speed gave her the most trouble. She really limited Arike and Kelsey Mitchell in certain games. She held Mitchell to 3 points. Yes, Gabby needs to slow down Young.

Hope she's ok. Those concussions can be tricky. Fortunately she has a week to get well...
With the concussion, she won't be playing Sunday. It says even with a mild concussion it's 7-10 days. Hopefully she will be ready by game 2. That's if as reported she actually had a concussion.
