I was at the game last night and a few things drove me crazy. First on our foul shots, other than with Vance, our shots are so flat. AB is pretty much pushing the ball straight at the rim. I've been coaching AAU for many years and focus on fundamentals. Everyone knows that you need to have some sort of arc for best chance to go in. The second issue that really drives me crazy is our close-outs. Our guys are constantly flying out at shooters trying to block shots and then of course flying by them as they then go to the basket.
This is not the way you close out but has been a problem all year long. On the positive side, I was happy with the patience that we had last night in breaking the press, don't remember a TO. Now if we can just get a new in-bounds play..........
