As funny as that comment is, it isn't as bad as the men's side where you had schools with no returning players committed to the roster.

It is a shame that she felt compelled to leave her hometown team. Without knowing all that much, I can only presume that playing there was a significant dream of her adolescent years.

If you followed the Gamecocks’ season, you saw “good Lay” and “bad Lay”. Good Lay would drive the lane for spectacular layups, scoring and/or drawing fouls, playing solid defense with steals and blocks. On the other hand, Bad Lay would take (and miss) ill-advised three point shots and commit unnecessary turnovers ( see Fudd picking her pocket… twice). Dawn sought more consistency (more Good Lay) over two seasons, but it never sunk in. Honestly, Tessa was more consistent, if less spectacular, than Milaysia, Pretty sure this was made clear by Dawn, who is known for being candid with players and parents.

If she leaves, I wish her the best. She helped win a natty, and got to two Final Fours. Her contributions are a matter of record.
