Bria probably should have been dropped from the list with the year that she is having. Its great that Kelly was added as that will increase her chances of making one of the All American lists.

The good news is that UConn has four players on the list. The bad news is that no way will more than two survive the next cut to a final list of twelve.

Bria has been unable to match her stats of last year. But the most important games are yet to be played and I can't resist believing that she will deliver.

Voters may not fully appreciate Kelly's all around game. Well, Geno does and several opponents do, and so do we.

I think Griner and Sims are locks but Hawkins and Thomas of Maryland may be victimized by being teammates.

Count EDD, Skylar and Chiney as locks. When you are good enough to be referred to by a nickname or just initials, that makes you a lock for some honor or another.

That all started with Babe Ruth. Before him, great players were named Ty Cobb or Honus Wagner or Tris Speaker. He was, simply, The Babe. After him there was Joe D., Yogi, The Mick, Willie, Duke, and Diz, among many others.

When folks like us ramble on about Diana, Maya, Sue, Simone, Big Syl, or Catch, we don't need a translater. We just know.

For this season do date, I'd have no problem if Hartley was off the list and McBride was on.

It's just odd. I can sort of understand not being on national lists at the beginning of the season because ND had 3 players on it last year that garnered most of the attention. I think the same think happens at UConn. Players like Kelly or Dolson don't get the attention or recognition they deserve because there are higher profile players on their teams. That being said there is no way McBride shouldn't have been on a pre-season BE team or on a mid-season watch list. Some of the players are suspect and routinely get shutdown by better teams and benefit from good numbers against weak competition.

I can tell you that a number of us noticed McBride last year and weren't surprised at how she's been playing this year...we had Kelly flagged to guard her instead of Skylar which is serious props for any player on this board...
