>>Fellow UConn commit Jordan Fuchs is no longer at Milford Academy.

Fuchs, a 6-foot-6 tight end, played in the first three games and had 10 catches for 119 yards and one touchdown.

Fuchs was a full qualifier coming out of Christ the King and attended Milford Academy because he needed more experience playing the tight end position so he could still arrive at UConn even after withdrawing from Milford Academy. Milford Academy coach Bill Chaplick didn't want to speak for Fuchs and his commitment to UConn but he said his decision to leave happened when Paul Pasqualoni was still the Huskies' head coach.<<

Hmmm....

Jordan left because of the way his sprained ankle was not attended to
Properly it was a mild sprain and no ice was given and no attention whatsoever
Not worth risking his future for lackluster medical staff. I will not speak a word of the living
Conditions. All the coaches are very qualified and great dudes Chaplick is a stand up
Guy as well. We wish then the best as we do the players
Jordan is training with two ex nfl receivers. Jordan is explosive and adding muscle
Is 6 ft 6 230 lbs. will be 235 by January coach pp will be missed.

Thanks for the update, CC. Hope he heals up soon. Still hoping to see Jordan in Storrs sooner rather than later!

Can we bring him in now? Guess he's not a student and kinda late. Hope we at least make another contact as TJ referred to.

I don't think it's the right move bringing him in now. He's way behind, and the clock starts once you enroll in college, so he'd basically waste this year. If he enrolls in January he can redshirt next year, or play, and save the redshirt (with the hope he never needs it).

If he misses coach P, Coach Ollie is still around, and we still need beef in the front court. ;)

Thank you COOSCOOS... is there a chance that Jordan enrolls at UConn in January? We would surely love to have him sooner than later! I'm confident Warde will hire the best coach of the job and Jordan will thrive at UConn - we've had a lot of success with our TE's and we are lacking at that position right now.

To bad Jordan didn't spend his PG year at a real school, with a real medical staff. That Milford Academy just doesn't pass the smell test IMO.

Milford had a horrible rep regarding living conditions when in Milford CT. Apparently things haven't changed much in upper NY state.

Go look at the website and see for yourself. Unbelievable, why don't they just call the place what it is, a football camp. Behold, the "science room".

They pretty much have......part of their Mission Statement:

The original purpose and mission of Milford Academy was to prepare students for entrance to Yale University. The Academy provided a family-oriented atmosphere with a balanced educational and athletic structure to prepare students for entry into higher education.

During recent years, Milford Academy has targeted its mission to respond to the needs of undergraduate/postgraduate student athletes who require additional educational guidance and/or athletic training. Our students typically represent a diversity of socio/economic backgrounds. These students, in general, are gifted athletes who have the opportunity to attain four-year athletic scholarships at major universities throughout the country.

JANUARY ENROLLMENT IS THE PLAN-- MILFORD IS A PRISON CAMP, NO REAL TRAINING FOR JORDAN ANYWAY--WEIGHT ROOM --WASTE OF TIME--------FOOD--DISGUSTING AND THE CLASSES? OMG ARE YOU SERIOUS? THE COACHES ARE THE TEACHERS AND THE STUDENTS? WHAT HAVE THESE KIDS DONE FOR 4 YEARS IN HIGH SCHOOL? BAD PLACE TO BE FOR AN EDUCATED, QUALIFIED KID. A KID THAT ALREADY HAS A SCHOOL----- IT IS EXACTLY WHAT ZOO COUGAR SAYS----I CALL IT A HOLDING AREA -----

WITH COACH TJ THE SPREAD OFFENSE IS THE EXCITING PART--WITH BOYLE SLINGING --GET THAT O-LINE SHORED UP--I LIKE OUR CHANCES---WILL HAVE MULTIPY TE'S THAT CANT STRECTH THE FIELD--

I'm guessing the staff, but COOS can answer that one. Fuchs should've been here in June. Instead we offered spots to 3 kids who decided they didn't want to be here.

GDL or Foley? We could have had him here for a full season of redshirt.

They left Milford due to financial issues. So I'm not sure what people expected. They were also a high school when in Milford, with only a handful of kids enrolled. I think I've mentioned it before, but I went to a MA prom in 1989 - a Junior/Senior prom. And all of us sat at one table.

Yeah. No idea what the intent was behind it, but we sent PGs to world class prep schools in the past and they were better for it. Looking forward to seeing him as a Husky, sorry to hear about his experience there. Most Soldiers in Afghanistan live in better conditions than that.
