Freshman of the year candidate (Leader?) did not play in today's loss to Wake. May have been injured in last game against Clemson. Anybody know more about what the injury is?

Pre-game release from Yahoo (Florida State women's basketball: Ta'Niya Latson to miss ACC second-round Game vs. Wake Forest) :

"Florida State Women’s Basketball freshman guard Ta’Niya Latson will miss Thursday’s ACC Second Round game vs. 12th-seeded Wake Forest due to an injury.
Latson will be day-to-day moving forward, according to a press release by the University. Her status will be monitored throughout the duration of the Ally ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament.

The freshman has 659 points this season and is looking to become the second Seminole to reach 700 points in a season. Latson was named the ACC Rookie of the Year, selected to the All-ACC First Team and is a member of the ACC All-Freshman Team earlier this week. She is the first Seminole to earn ACC Rookie of the Year honors and is a front-runner for National Freshman of the Year as well, leading all freshmen across the country with 21.3 points per game.

Latson, a Miami native, broke the conference record by collecting 10 Rookie of the Week honors in the ACC this season. She became the first ACC freshman to lead the conference in scoring during the regular season and led the ACC from start to finish. She ended the regular season with an ACC-leading 18 20-point games, adding seven 30-point performances this year.
Latson held a streak of 14 consecutive 20-point games at on point, which was the second-longest ever in NCAA Men’s or Women’s Basketball behind 18 straight from Trae Young at Oklahom

I don't have an answer for you, visitingcock, only a response that the Seminoles surely looked lost vs. my Deacons in the second half without Ta'Niya. Florida State somehow led, 34-16, at the half over a team that has trouble producing points and appeared a lock to advance in the ACC.

So what happens? Wake outscored the 'Noles, 49-20, in th second half to win going away. That's not only an almost unfathomable turnaround, it's a cautionary to us all to not take anything for granted in the league and NCAA tournaments.

@visitingcock So excited to see Fulwiley next year. Latson, Turnage , Raven Johsnon and Milaysia Fulwiley all played on the same AAU Team[FBC United] in 2021 . Milaysia was a rising Sophomore that Summer. She actually unseated ACC Freshman of the Year -Taniya Latson from the starting lineup.

TaNiya was Raven’s HS teammate and they won the national championship together.

Seems Dawn should be in pretty good shape for a backcourt in '23-24...

Best wishes to Latson. I saw she wasn't in the box score and was wondering. Wake crushed FSU in the second half.
