She didn't seem very warm to Geno at the end of the game, but was yucking it up with the UConn players in the congratulations line. Did anyone else notice this?

I did! But then again TV is not always accurate, so I tend to not over analyze that kind of thing. She did give a hug to Stewie!

I sure didn't see anything from Geno that was untoward. Maybe they were all talked out from the pre-game or something.

Looked like it was 'well, Geno, we stunk it up pretty good' kind of wry greetings - not unfriendly at all, just disappointment with the game FSU played. She coached with Jen on the U19 team that had the Stewart and Tuck on it (did Moriah miss that one?) and was very friendly with Stewart, didn't see her meeting with Tuck.

Hmmm...Are you suggesting an NCAA investigation? :D Geno is a rival and just kicked her butt. It goes, nice game and the reply is a nod / hand shake and a grunt at best if you lost. As for the players they were recruited by her and or played under her on other teams. She is one of the top coaches in the nation in her sport and realizes you treat student athletes with a kinder hand than you would have to an adversary.
Is this lame topic really something worthy of a thread ??????????
Of course it has to be now, as I questioned it I was also silly enough to reply...;)

True story about Sue Semaru. I was at the WBCA game in 2010 in San Antonio. I was with the parents of a player in the game so we were able to get seats through a coach near many of the WBB coaches. Sue Semaru was right in front of me. Meighan Simmons (future UT pg) is on the court and didnt pass the ball to an open player, instead she put up a bad shot. Sue said quietly, but loud enough to hear, "Ball Hog". I had to really hold it back to avoid cracking up.

I was there and saw an extended and warm greeting pre-game between the coaches. Geno stayed with her for an inordinate amount of time. After the game it was cordial and normal but not over the top. She was extremely gracious to the UConn folks. The bottom line is that her players got to play in and experience the excitement of a full raucous arena. They very seldom get to do that in the ACC and out of conference. We are the program all others aspire to be.

Just as an FYI, Sue and Geno were both sequential presidents of the WBCA.

Seems like a non-issue. But let's remember, Geno is all about winning games and championships, not about having coaches as friends. As per his comments re McGraw:

"I could sit here and list 10,000 coaches that don't interact with each other whose rivalries are intense. This is a function of women's basketball. Sometimes we act like girls, like we're supposed to go to dinner every night. We're supposed to play each other, try to beat each other's brains in, try to win a national championship and compete like hell, Muffet and Geno. And then we're supposed to get together afterwards and go have a bottle of wine? That sh#t is just not going to happen. So stop asking us why it doesn't happen."

I saw that game too. I liked Samarie and was impressed with Bria. Chiney really stood out. I labeled Simmons as "The most likely to jack up 25 shots per game." I think she hit her first 2 or 3, then started missing but didn't stop shooting.

I remember when I would get a spanking ( and I deserved everyone) from my mother or father, I wasn't too friendly with them right afterwards either. But I would yack it up with my sisters and brothers. We all seemingly understood that that's the way life goes in that household. Or in this case , that's the way life is when you venture into the XL Center and you come up against Big Daddy.
