Hi Folks,

Heading up to the game on Friday night. Traveling from Ridgefield/Danbury area. Does anyone have any idea how long it will take to get there? I thought there would be less traffic because of the holiday but a guy at work said it will take forever.

Thanks!

Probably and 1.25 - 1.5 hours.

Took me a little less than that coming from Milford ... although that was for an exhibition. You could try and take the Rt. 44 way.

It's gonna take a long time. You're gonna hit rush hour traffic to boot. My advice: try to get out of work early. Grab dinner near campus.

1 hr 20 min without traffic. However Its a Friday night rush hr and game traffic off the exit. Leave no later then 4:30 if you want to
get up there in time

I would suggest leaving work at about 3:45 pm. You'll get through Hartford before 5 pm, and 384 to 44 to campus will seem like a pleasant Sunday Drive. You'll get to Four Corners (intersection of 44 and 195) at about 5:30. Willington Pizza will be standing room only, but it's truly great pizza. Wings Over Storrs is a great inexpensive option, and quite good.

I'm in willimantic now. Where is the brewery? Might have to skip class

It's right on main street next to the Dunkin Donuts it's a big old post office building and really hard to miss.

And it is really worth skipping the class to go there. Try the Willi Wamer beer if you can.

It will take forever just to get past Waterbury. Leave early. I would also take I-691 East to I-91 North to keep away from Hartford rush hour. Bring a sandwich, Gampel food is beyond horrendous. Do you know where to park? If not add another 20 minutes.

I'll second what others are saying. This is just a god awful drive, especially on a Friday. Take a half day, get some wings at the Bidwell Tavern, and a beer or two pregame at Teds. Make it an enjoyable day, since the game will likely be out of hand within 10 minutes.

Yes...avoid Hartford....you'll get stop and go traffic on I-84 from W Htfd into Htfd that will make the 3 miles stretch take 45 minutes....and that's on a regular workday...
