Talked about his groups ability to schedule events. Gave Philly's Comcast Center as an example. It schedules over 300 events per year. Has ideas (didn't elaborate much) about multiple activities to schedule at the Rent. Said that the XL needs $ 16 Million in immediate improvements.

one of the actual things being queitly being talked about is playing cricket in the parking lot. what i mean is a actual field w/e that size is being made. another is there is some rugby team or organization who wants the field on sundays.

if the rent gets good field turf, we may be seeing the lights on more often.

Let me guess, a Truck and Tractor Pull event on Friday September 20, 2013 (the night before our biggest home game ever against Michigan)?!

This cracks me up. The Rent had the Rolling Freakin' Stones a week before a game and as a result there were some brown spots on the sidelines. The Puppies were in an uproar. And still are it appears.

With the increase in events at both venues, negotiated rates for their tenants and out of pocket cost to the customer should, in a perfect world, also decrease. UConn pays something like $50k per game in Hartford and the Whale used to pay $21K plus union costs per game (for a freaking minor league team). I don't know what it is now. Paying professional prices for consessions at a minor league or college even is one of the reasons I hate going into Hartford. This, in turn, also hurts the local economy because not as many people patronize the surrounding restuarants before and after the games.

I think we lose soccer events if we go turf... didn't that get discussed a few years back?

Something clunking around in the noggin over that.

Soccer is a once a year event and the Rent needs more usage than that. I would be all for Field turf as it would open up to other venues coming in more.

Like what? What has real turf prevented?

Concerts because of what happened last time they had a big show. You can do more with field turf than grass. I like soccer but it is not played enough at the Rent to keep it a grass field.
