I have brought this up after every game, but UConn needs to have an actual front court on the court. Math is simple, if each of Whaley, Carlton and Sanogo play more minutes than Adams and Gaffney, UConn is going to play better. Playing small lineups clogs up the perimeter for Bouk and Cole, and leaves UConn with no offensive rebounding or inside offense. Worse, it kills UConn on defense.

I get the limitations of Whaley, Carlton and Sanogo, and they are all usually in foul trouble. I would say that is 1/3 their fault, 1/3 because their guards are not playing great defense, and 1/3 because bigs are going to pickup fouls in basketball. The result is that all 3 have to play meaningful minutes, which is fine. UConn is still better with two forwards than without 2 forwards.

Going small should be a lineup like Martin, Polley and Whaley/Carlton with 2 guards. We should not play more than 10 minutes of true 3 guard a game because those lineups just don't work for UConn on either end.
