Many times the post player handing off the ball is not a credible threat to do anything besides hand off that ball, The  UCONN post players lack  the patience to let the play start with a proper ball screen and develop according to how the defense reacts.   These are really fundamental things that are not going to get fix by moving to a different offensive scheme because those same fundamentals  are required regardless of  which scheme you decide to move to.
