Things could be a lot worse

The Big12, a P4 conference, much higher on the revenue totem pole … today’s semifinals with 4 top 20 teams … are on ESPN+, a paid subscription service.

The Big East quarterfinals are all on Fs1 or fs2, on almost all cable systems.

thats true but with SNY we got so much more coverage before and after the games. We got to know the girls and coaches almost personally.
I'm happy to see the games but will really miss all the extras on SNY.

The Big12 has had a contract with ESPN+ for a couple years now. It's how I watched tons of OU softball games.
But back to the main point, it is a bad thing when even ESPNNews or ESPNU isn't carrying these games.

I wouldn't be surprised if that is a choice. 2 of the quarterfinals were on ESPNU. The plus side of the deal (no pun intended) is that virtually everything is available on ESPN+ and really decent announcers - we had Cindy Brunson and our former coach Joan Bonvicini both of whom previously were on PAC12 Network. I didn't recognize the play by play guy but the commentator at Colorado was Ceal Barry, their former coach as well. Plus everyone can get ESPN+ for a fee, my provider didn't carry PAC12 so it is an improvement for us. It is essentially "The Big 12 Network", but streaming instead of regular TV.

The negative is paying, but, um, not for nothing but ESPN+ is cheap. My wife sent me a notice the price was going up and I replied "and still cheap".

@KnightBridgeAZ

I went to the same grammar school as Joan Bonvicini. She was in my sisters class and her sister was in my class.
