Ok so I'm taking the plunge this year. I live in NJ but family is still in CT. Thinking of getting four seats. I will make two games/year personally but I have clients, friends and family who all enjoy going to games and I want to support UConn athletics as much as I can.

Looking for opinions of good sections to get into.... I know I know that's a wide open question so for argument sake let's just say I'm thinking Upper Chairback to Preferred. Appreciated..........

If you're doing upper chair backs, the side on the pressbox is in the shade. It's nice in Sept but come Nov you'll wish you were in the sun.

Excellent point..exactly the kind of info needed...thank you!

One thing we found when we moved from upper to lower - lower sections are nice because they are below ground and you don't get blasted by the wind.

How many rows back before you get good vision over the team?

I'd shoot for 10 rows+ off the bottom or else you risk some obstruction. Also, it's just a better viewing angle in general.

No matter where you sit, you are looking above the team, but you don't get a good view of the formation. Also if you are too low, you tend to miss action when the play is at the other end of the filed and will find yourself watching the scoreboard. The video board is HD, but you might as well stay home if you're gonna watch the game on TB. My seats have been towards the top of the lower bowl for the past couple years. they are perfect. That said, even seats in the upper corners at Rentschler are not bad. It only seats 40,000, which is about the size of the lower bowl of an NFL stadium.

Depends on you and your family, and what your preferences are for game day experience. Upper Chair-backs are great, however... if you are bringing wife and/or younger kids, I'd recommend the club seats, indoors. You get gold lot parking pass (very close to the entrance and just behind the scoreboard, don;t have to deal with the elements as it is always 70 degrees dry (except for the booze - liquor too), waitresses taking your drink orders, free buffet lunch at half time, and if you want to sit outside you can go outdoors and find seats pretty easily. Your clients will love it too. My friend used my indoor tickets for a game 2 seasons ago and brought his son (he had outdoor tickets, but weather was going to be bad, so wanted to be inside), he said it was a game changer for him and ended up switching to club seats this past season and hasn;t looked back. Just a more enjoyable experience for him and the kids.

It's all a matter of personal preference and what you're looking to get out of the day.

Front Rows of the 2nd level. Best view. Anywhere between 10 yard lines you get a good view, and 100% buy them on the sunny side. You'll get a nice tan in Aug/Sept/Oct and won't get hypothermia in Nov/Dev.

we're in row 11 of section 124 - I would not go any closer than that. I wish we were in row 15 or so.

I have been in row 13 then 15 since the Rent opened. I did switch from from the non press box side to the press box side to get out of the sun in early season games. I don't mind the cold but there is nothing more uncomfortable than cooking in the sun in a September game. Though this past season I spent most of my time watching from the concourse. I've had back problems and sitting too long bothers my back.

I'd recommend the club seats, indoor.

Club seats are for . You only get a fraction of the atmosphere.

And I'm not sure how good your preferred seats would be, especially in the lower bowl. You would probably end up on the 12 yard line or so. I think upper chairbacks on the sunny side are you best option.

Might be a stupid question, but I recently moved back to the east coast and was trying to figure out when season tix are on sale, and the general price range.

Love to hear from the "hard guys" calling out people sitting indoors, meanwhile when the weather turns they're either a no show, leave early, or bundled up in multiple layers, hats, gloves, hand warmers... shivering like, what's the word I'm looking for... oh ya, ;)

To the OP, go with wherever you and your family would get the most out of it. As Waquoit pointed out, the atmosphere (sound and 'feel') of sitting outdoors is definitely less when indoors. If you have young kids tho, it will allow you to sit thru the entire game later in the season and not have to worry about the elements and leaving early. Indoors or outdoors, there's not really a bad seat.

There isn't a bad seat in the place but I would go sunny side upper chairbacks if I had the choice.

We use to sit in row 7 in section 123. Too close you could smell it but not see everything. we moved up to rows 20 + 21 in the same section and love it. Sunny side of the field is great in the late fall. Calls for plenty of sunscreen in September especially if the aluminum benches right in front of you are unoccupied.

I have had both upper and lower chair backs. Both have been great, but as others say, I would try to get something on the sunny side. I would think that you would have better luck with the uppers unless you already have priority points from the UConn club.

I am in row 12 in the lower and really would not want to get any lower. I am thinking about seatbacks this year, and moving to the sunny side.

Thanks, this is where I get to say I haven't missed a game in The Rent. Not a one. I know there aren't many of us left.

I'm in the 2nd to last row of the lower chairbacks on the sun side and they afford you perfect all field viewing.

With 7 games this year, seats between the GL and 35 will be around $350. for the season. Endzone $175. Chairbacks in the middle, more. Season tickets for new buyers usually go on sale around the spring game, I think.

Here's my take on this. If you're interested in family harmony you will listen. Chair backs about 10 rows back are perfect. The press box side is the only place to be. The sunny side is horrid before October. The shady side is not that cold and we bring blankets when it is. Good luck and thanks for being there.

Yes, but the club has a martini bar.
