SH had a ton of open 3 point shots but was only 5 for 26. Uconn really needs to tighten up their 3 point defense. It was very poor today but we got away with it. Still miss a lot of open shots and also passed up a lot of open shots. Offensive again was fair at best. Not sure how they get going. I guess they just need to start hitting some shots. Also they need to push push push the ball to get some open shots on the wings and some layups. Louisville will be a real challenge on the road. We will need to play much better to win that game.

Our win in the BET over Depaul wasn't "impressive" because they stunk but it was important because we needed to get on the right foot.

Step in the right direction, I guess. I think they still have a ways to go before we start thinking they can compete with great teams, but they definitely played better today than they had been. Of course, Seton Hall might be the worst team in the Big East without Herb Pope, but they took care of buisness which is all you can ask for.

There are some things correct in this post, there are also some really stupid things.

I'm not sure how you lament on one hand SHU missing open shots and saying it was bad defense by UConn but at the same time lament UConn missing open shots and saying it was bad offense by UConn.

Assists are a bit of a flawed stat, the passing was much, much better this game (almost too much at some points). I will take over passing versus underpassing almost all the time.

The team was pushing the ball when it could, Napier and Lamb made efforts to get the ball to Boatright and let me push it up.

The team won by 23 against a team without it's best player. That is exactly what it should have done. I wouldn't say this was a game you laud UConn for, but it's certainly not a game you say, "that was poor". If it was a 5 or maybe even a 10 point win, then go for it. The defense is doing pretty well, SHU was 10-32 inside the arc. UConn had a +11 on the boards.

I'm sure the team will be disappointed that they were unable to impress you. Sometimes I just don't know what to say. We have seen what the team is to this point, do you really think it would transform into something else just like that? Forget being impressed and get with the idea that this is a game by game thing now. Look for improvement and try not to get crazy.

Obviously they caught a team down on their luck at home but you gotta be a little impressed that they scored >60 points, no matter who they're playing. They also looked like they were having a lot more fun out there. If Roscoe/TO/AO can hit that 12 footer throughout the game then UConn becomes a lot more dangerous team.

That being said, if Seton Hall hadn't gone 2-18 from 3pt range to start the game and they kept the game close, this would not have been a blowout. UConn was very lax throughout the game, and that isn't gonna fly at Louisville or Cuse.
