I'll always wonder why Kiah Gillespie (CT HS Player) and Geno didn't have interest in her playing for UConn. If she had and stayed she would have graduated last year. She might have been helped carry the team over the hump and win a couple of National Championships. Kiah is like Bria Holmes another CT HS Player that were extremely talented that went elsewhere.

Florida State is another team that seems to always play to the level of their opponent.

Georgia Tech looking to vault themselves right back in the bubble with a win here. Now up 6 early in 4Q.

Ga Tech is trying to hurt and help Duke at the same time

I doubt it.

Do we even know if she was interested in going to UConn? Some people want to get away from home. Some just aren't a good fit. Maybe let's give the coaching staff some credit.

Its not like she transferred closer to her home..... she transferred about 700 miles further away than she was.

.-.
Pan, you have to hit all your free throws under these conditions.

I tell ya, with all due respect to the Florida State fans, I'm glad I'm not a fan of this team because they would be maddeningly frustrating as a fan.

It’s Upset Sunday. This isn’t the biggest one though. 65-62 GT
Pan 23 pts

GaTech has one of the best fight songs around. One last game for them..... they play at Clemson. Win that.. and win a game in Greensboro... could they sneak in the NCAAs?

Georgia Tech has been the roller coaster team this season.

As of Jan. 17, they were 14-3 and appeared headed for a #6 or #7 seed in the NCAAs.

Then they lost 5 in a row to drop out completely.

Now they have wins over NC State and FSU in the past week to jump back right into the bubble. RPI is still low (66) but as of today I think they'd be in with their quality wins. It'd be close, though.

.-.
How does it hurt them? Duke is in third place in ACC now, right?

I was thinking it might hurt Duke's RPI by having FSU losing....

Just checked.... Duke is up to 29 right now

That's why I phrased it the way I Did. "why Kiah Gillespie (CT HS Player) and Geno didn't have interest in her playing for UConn " Guess I could have said and/or instead of just and. I don't know if the lack of interest was on both or just one of them. It seems that the Best player coming out of CT don't go to Storrs.

I doubt it.

Ugh, the effort by FSU is lacking and getting out-coached is routine. Go Noles!

That's the nature of this team....when you are middlin'....you win some and lose some...

But fans aren't particularly upset...it isn't UConn...at FSU, no women's BB forum, no game thread....not the same kind of following as the Huskies...a reversal of sorts where the football interest is high right now but the women's BB is a far after thought.

I sat beside some diehard FSU fans in Greensboro last year. I know they are suffering. First time actually sitting next to them... but Ive seen the husband at the tourney for several years. Actually saw them in the stands when they played South Carolina in Charlotte in the early rounds last season as well. The wife brought me cookies and pastries from the VIP lounge last year... so I have no ill regards for FSU.

You know...it is funny like that...My wife and I went to the 1982 Gator Bowl vs WVU....sat next to another young couple from West Virginia...went out together after the game...exchanged phone numbers...

I never expected to hear from them (you know how it goes)...but they called, came down on vacation and we took them out on the boat....we both had boys late that year...we ended up vacationing together often, cross visiting, and the boys grew up as "cousins".

So...for many years, I have followed West Virginia football....have a soft spot for them...Sooo...now in the fall of our life, we will sit together this September at the FSU-WVU game in Atlanta.

Not even in same hemisphere as UConn. But the attendance has been top 5 in ACC for a while now, and a few of us, if not at the game, comment during games over @Warchant.com

I saw both Kiah and Bria play in high school. They were both good players but no better than the players who did come to UConn at the time.

Bria did fine at WVU and seems okay in the WNBA but again has not set the world on fire. She was and is a player with great body control and good shooting skills. But I don’t see her in a motion offense kind of team.

Kiah now after time in two programs looks to me just as she did in high school. She shares Bria’s attributes. But, to me, she would have benefited from Geno’s tutelage. I saw him at a Capitol Prep game once but never heard anymore.

I see zip about this last game on the Warchant board (hoops)...
...are you talking some free board?

There is not even a mention, as yet this morning, that there was even
a game....

If you look at Warchant...you see men's hoops, baseball, football....but NO women's hoops..

Didn't this get posted a few other times as well? Its not that complicated really when you think about it. Kiah was class of 2015, we went hard after KLS, Pheesa and Boykin, and didn't really have a position for Kiah. She went to Maryland, transferred to FSU and has blossomed a bit. But let's not get carried away she would have done any of this at UConn. She got to develop under the Radar at FSU after not enjoying MD.

No, it hasn't been in the top 5, but close 3 out of 6 years...ND, Louisville and Duke (albeit theirs has fallen a quite a bit) are regularly ahead. NC State has now been coming out in droves and Virginia is rebounding by bringing in Good teams (next year UConn visits for Meg's homecoming game!).

Awesome handle!

@billybud I haven't been a paying member of Warchant in a long, long time. I enjoy Tomahawk Nation and post there often.
