The sun is shining this morning!!! Was up most of Wednesday night into Thursday morning. We had winds at 60 mph during the night. Yesterday morning I was on the phone with CERT members. One of our members is also a trained, uniformed volunteer deputy sheriff. We were talking/ texting starting around 6:45 AM. He went out and surveyed the entire community and was texting me our local conditions. Outside of downed trees, only one property damage incident. It had no injuries. I went out in the golf cart and toured out area of the community. Got half way down the street and a big tree was down. A little farther down the street, neighbors were out cleaning up a downed tree limb. Checked the rest of the street and headed out to other areas. A lot of branches, leaves and palm tree mess. Saw a lot of trees blown down. No structural damage. Our CERT program did not activate. The village opened this morning at 9 AM. The lawn service company is getting to the clean up. It will take a couple of days to clean igt all up. The restaurant willl open at 11.
