Tiffany kept UConn in the game. Cal was unconscious for a while and looked poised to pull off the upset. Ms Hayes may never have been a first team All American, but she possessed all the skills and abilities.

I'm a Cal fan and woke up my roommate that morning (and we're talking Pacific Time Zone, so it was early!), screaming and cheering at the TV, thrilled that Cal was able to give the undefeated UConn a good game for the first half.
And I vividly remember being VERY impressed by Tiffany Hayes that game. She reminded me a bit of Candice Wiggins in her prime, and indeed seemed destined for 1st AA status eventually. But, hey, kudos to her for being a legit player in the WNBA—no small feat!
