…a single team that played UConn during the regular season.
Yesterday's Mississippi State game was the latest piece of evidence that teams typically have a hard time adjusting to UConn if they haven't seen UConn in a while (or ever before). That said, there are exceptions; Dayton in particular comes to mind as a team that played UConn very well in the first half of last year's Elite 8 game despite not having faced the Huskies since the seniors on that team were freshmen. It could be interesting to see how this plays out as the tournament progresses and UConn hopefully advances. Four of the other seven Elite 8 teams have at least some players who have faced UConn before, while for everyone on the other three teams it would be a new experience. For what it's worth, here are the dates of UConn's most recent meetings with each team remaining in the field:
Texas 3/28/15
Stanford 11/17/14
Baylor 1/13/14
Syracuse 3/11/13
Washington 12/18/08
Tennessee 1/6/07
Oregon State 11/25/95
