did I get that right? my point is that with whats left of the BE and the new guys coming in we got the best of the rest both on the field and potential wise. so if we are forever doomed in this league then i think this is clearly a league thats way ahead of the next. there may be a top 4(sec/b10/pac/b12) and a 5th(acc) that are above this league, but the NBE is a clear #6 with miles of years to get to what is now left for league #7. So post BCS bid we are still move upper level then not. Any mix of teams like /BYU/UNLV/ECU and others to round off a league of 16 only helps build this argument as teams like those are all leagues #7 and 8 hang there hats on now. This league will never be a top 4, but it can challenge #5 on the field and in most ways in college football. this draft is proof of that. if the tv contract is anything close, the acc can start its pants right now as far as i'm concerned and continue to rely on brand names that are losing its grip.

Can't wait to see how the rest of the rounds go. The top talent isn't far off between the 2 leagues, but its depth i question right now, building toward the future....

You missed C. Jones, SU, to Pats. First round.

Nice numbers to analyze. Amazing to me that Pitt had 0 players drafted after hearing for years about Pitt's amazing recruiting classes. Add in Rutgers with 1 draft pick in the 3rd round. It is just hard to take recruiting sites and recruiting commentary seriously when you look at these numbers.

A huge positive for the BE is the draftees from SDSU, and SMU. These schools should only recruit better with the BE affiliation. As has been said many times before, several of the teams coming to the BE (Boise, SMU, SDSU) are better than PITT and 'Cuse. Those that aren't better are pretty much even with the exception of Memphis.

When you've convinced yourself that SMU is better than Pittsburgh... Stockholm Syndrome has fully taken hold.

And yes I realize they beat Pitt this year. It was also their second winning season since 1998. By this logic UConn would have been better than South Carolina for a conference two years ago. Two 8-5 seasons over 14 years. Playing in the abyss of CUSA.

SDSU has also been to two bowl games in 14 years. This with a schedule that includes Idaho, New Mexico and UNLV every year. As horrible as Syracuse has been - come on.

Odd that the Big East pedigree hasn't helped the current teams recruit any better. The WAC only had 1 fewer player taken than the current Big East did.
