I don't pick particular wins in conference for the most part, but I actually have UConn winning that game in my mind.

ok just asking. if we do have a 8-4 ish record then that game becomes a lot more. while some fans may feel that its our turn for the yankee bowl, if cincy beats us and we have the same records roughly, i think its not a given at all that we get the nyc bowl because cincy is close enough and brand enough to take that bid from us. if were having the dream season its doesn't matter but if were having a 8 win type season then i really hope for the nyc bowl as it would be a great boost for this fan base to get that game vs a b12 team.

It's hard to believe Cincinnati IS "brand football" now.

Why are we so sold on Syracuse finishing last. They have a lot of talent. They beat west Virginia pretty good I am actually liking them with the points vs USC.

Pinstripe would be good for you guys. Just hope that if you get it that it gets a better time slot. No better way to kill attendance for a game that should be easy to make than to have it in the middle of the day on a work day.

I don'tr get all the love for Rutgers, but it might just be me. I see a new head coach whose never run a team before, all new staff, a messed up quarterback situation with multiple guys who won't make anyone think they are Brady or Manning, a defense that is always good on paper but often like paper on the field. I think 4-3 at best, maybe even 3-4. They are absolutely going to lose a game they should have won because of a freshman coach.

I have the same feeling about South Florida. Every year USF is going to be one of the teams to beat and every year they don't quite make the turn. And I really don't love BJ Daniels at quarterback. He is one of those guys who can occasionally make the big play but I think he still has a tendency to break off and run when he shouldn't. If you can pressure him he'll panic.

I think Louisville, Cincinnatti, then a bunch of UConn, South Florida, Pitt(Who I think will actually be a little better), Rutgers, then the pit with Temple and Syracuse. I doubt they'll be anywhere near USC, Srqhysky.

Pinstripe is cool, close and has the potential for some pretty well known competition.

I'll just wear a clothespin on my nose to get rid of the Yankee stench. :)

I want the orange bowl, and I want to be 1-0, twelve times, before we get there.

UConn can run the table at home. I think the home schedule lines up nice for them. The road has always been a stuggle...getting two wins out of four at WMich, RU, USF, UL will be an accomplishment.

A lot of talent? Seriously? They're softer than toilet paper.

Flood announced who the starting QB is. So that's over with. We return the league's best defense and had the league's best recruiting class. Flood brought in what looks to be a good staff that is full of former head coaches, which allows him to delegate more so he doesn't have to have the same problems as a regular first year head coach. Not saying he won't, but I can see how with this staff that he may not run into those problems.

And what do you mean a defense that often looks like paper? I mean even the game you crushed us was due to us turning the ball over, your offensive stats were pretty pedestrian (290 yards of offense). We gave up only 8 passing TDs all year and were ranked 14th in the country in total defense.

I'm not saying we can't have a disappointing season, but to not see why there is hype for this team is kind of out there.

No offense.....but RU has been thumping their chests about their recruiting classes for as long as I can remember. And yet when UConn and RU are on the same field every year there is very little to no difference in talent between the teams at all.

Except last year of course.......

Well the one thing I will say is that our offense had a great day if we actually looked pedestrian. And Recruiting class? Talk to me about that in 2 years. If you are using more than 1 or 2 of this year's recruits, you are in serious trouble.

Last year was the only year we had the best recruiting class in the BE, 2011 was close to being number behind UL. Before that we were middle of the pack in recruiting.

Last year was a anomaly, I think we can all agree that the game that happened was not indicative of each team's season. But yes, overall the games are usually close and the talent levels don't seem far apart. To me that's because New England recruiting is always undervalued due to a lack of resources to scout those players, and the style of play from both teams doesn't lead to blow outs.

And when you get some 4* recruits and a 5* recruit, it's near impossible to keep them off the field. So no, playing freshmen does not mean we are in trouble.

What do I think of UMass? They're in the way. - Don Brown.

Insert every single Big East team and the other non-conference games, and that's all there is to say.

They're all in our way. We move them out, or we don't.

It's almost kickoff time for season 1. UMass.

Why so high on Pitt? Bad QB, new scheme, horrible lines, unproven coach, star player is going to be hurt.....I am not sold on them.

The news about Graham doesn't seem good. But they were one game from getting a piece of the title last year with that same talent level and god awful coaching. They were recruited for the pro system and now they're back to it.

OL looks bad as well, but how many BE teams can we not say that about, really? Again these were from two months ago.

I think what's messing me up now as I'm trying to think of a new rankings list, is the middle. After UL and RU at the top, and Temple and Cuse at the bottom I have no idea how the middle will go.

Too many question marks. Almost tempted to put UCONN at the #3 spot because it seems like you guys just have fewer questions, and then maybe USF? But I'm just never sold on them.

Maybe we'll be proven wrong......but this is exactly how I feel about Pitt as well. Graham is already going to miss their first game. People expecting him to be 100% this year are nuts.

It's all in the QB play. Most BE teams have some really good and some not so good. USF only won one conference game last year for a reason. Rutgers looked like USC in beating WV last year 'cause the QB tore them up with accurate passes. CW is going to be the best QB in the league and Uconn will win. I see Louisville, Cin. and Rutgers fighting for the next 3 spots and USF being better than Temple/Pitt with the fruit being pretty rotten.
