Being someone whose job requires substantial obfuscating, I note that the "record ratings" weren't for the final game (on CBS), but were record ratings for CBB games on
cable. IIRC, this was the first year that the Final 4 games were on cable. So I guess the UK-UW game beat an NIT Final or a game from Coaches vs Cancer or something.
Also, as to attendance, playing in Cowboys Stadium helps.
So, that article doesn't say much about anything. Well, the "live stream" part was interesting. I wonder how many people watched on their computers. It only says the percentage increase, not the number (unless that's folded in the 21 million).
Edit: Last year 23 million people watched the Title Game. 14.5 million watched the UL/WSU game and 17 million watched the UM/SU game. So, as I guessed, misleading article title.
