Initial Point spreads have nothing to do with “ respect” of the people who set them . It is a prediction of how the public will place its bets. It will move as people bet to encourage bettors to bet on the other side. Maximum betting and balanced betting on both sides is the goal- not picking who will win.

In a sense, that movement after the initial spread does indicate how much the betting public “respects” the two teams

Coincidentally, Massey has Stanford over UConn 65-64 and has SC over Louisville 64-56

So Vegas is currently mirroring Massey….

That means the various black box calculators appear to consider UConn back at full strength.
