OT: Favorite Restaurant in CT

It's up there for me. Worth the 30 minute drive each time, especially when you can parlay the drive with a trip to Nod Hill.

My vote: Teff in Stamford. Out of this world Ethiopian/Eritrean food, super nice owners and most entrees are around $15.

Hyped, but also amazing: Valencia Luncheria in Norwalk.

I’ll have to try Teff. I live up the street from Valencia — it’s an issue. Also, not sure if you know, there Sunday brunch is amazing with make your own bloody mary station. It’s also an issue that I live to so close to blackstones, oan and almond, pasquale osteria, cactus rose, etc.

Sliders in Plainville across the street from J timothys. Their wings are on par with Jtims imo, but sliders is a better atmosphere and has some killer drink and appetizer deals...their buffalo blue cheese flavor is incredible.

My other favorite spots are Max A Mia in Avon or Abbotts in Noank

It was probably $500 on food rest alcohol. You should have seen the bill at don pepe's in queens last time we went with a group of 10. We ordered 10 dozen clam casinos off the rip

In my area, White Crest Eatery in the Velvet Mill, Stonington. Also in Stonington, Breakwater(the old Skipper's Dock). In Mystic, Engine Room or Oyster Club(same owners). When I go to visit family, Nataz in North Branford. BYOB, and $35 prix fixe 4 courses. The food is outstanding, service on point, and plenty of choices. They have sister restaurants in Clinton and Southington.

Yessir! Norwalk is a fantastic food town. Valencia catered our wedding and it was glorious. Between wedding day and the flight for our honeymoon, 100% of the food I ate were their leftovers.

Sliders Buffalo blue cheese flavor are my favorite wings. I realize I'm probably in the huge minority here but I think they're very comparable to jtims

Yes. Incredible, but very expensive.

That's our special occasion spot (birthday, anniversary) spot. I live just a mile from there and walk past it on my daily walking route.

The head chef is from Eastern Montana, a town not too far from my wife's hometown. Once we found that out, we met him and he hooked us up with off-menu stuff to try. Really nice guy.

The Glazer family are the people behind the transformation of the old Silvermine Tavern and they've done a pristine job.

Pizzeria Marzano in Torrington, it's Neapolitan pizza with their twist. Owner/Chef trained by the VPN.

West Shore Seafood in Bantam, BYOB, great outdoor seating, good seafood.

Never been to Arethusa al tavolo (too rich for me) but the ice cream next door is some of the best in the state. (Ice cream can be gotten in New Haven and now West Hartford)

Pizza - Roseland in Derby

Seafood - Ford’s Lobster in Noank or the Madison Lenny and Joe’s

Steak - Michael Jordan’s at Mohegan or Cedar’s in Foxwoods

Diner - Plaza Diner in Shelton or Valley Diner in Derby

Burger/Hot Dog - Plan B is good, but Duchess never disappoints.

Don't forget Porky's in Shelton for wings

I don’t get the love for Goodfellas. Obviously I’m partial to L’Orcio, but in a city with an excess of great Italian restaurants of various types, I don’t think Goodfellas distinguishes itself on any score.

I probably eat at Portofino more than any of them and I think they are very good to great 99% of the time. And Skappo is excellent but very different.

Adrianna’s and Tarry Lodge probably the next level down for me, but I’d gladly eat at either.

For my tastes, Goodfellas and Caffe Bravo are probably the next level down from there, along with Tre Scalini (which used to be much better imo).

i believe you, i only visit every quarter, so i have no idea what’s good anymore.
