In the next 24-48 hours, we are going to hear about how our fans are somehow deficient for not packing the Rent today.

It's not your fault.

We all know that the CT sports fan is fickle. They want to follow a winner, or at least as team with some hope. We are nowhere near established yet as a program to expect people to show up no matter what. Not when the product people are being forced to consume is so lifeless and uninspired. This is NOT a knock on our kids who bust their ass all the time. I believe they had the talent to go bowling last year and this year, or even run for the BE title, but they were not put in a position to succeed. This falls on our coaching, pure and simple. More people will vote their displeasure with their backsides the longer this train wreck is allowed to continue. Put an inspiring product on the field, one with hope, and the fans will return.

It starts with the coaches, and goes right in to scheduling.

League games are league games, but therein lies the rub. Our league is crumbling by the minute. People can NOT be expected to support a product at current prices while it will deliver less and less value in the current state of the Big East. We need out now, and that's been beaten to death. We need OOC games against name teams, and that's been beaten to death too.

Lastly, UConn's marketing has been and continues to be worthless. We've had countless threads on here on how to enhance the game day experience. Hell I'd even resort to bribery to get fans in their seats. UConn football should be able to be heard from NJ clear through Maine. Why isn't it? Engage the masses. Sell the product and experience, and sell it some more. Adjust prices to fill the Rent. Offer newbies discounted tix to try a game, and have the stubs be worth 20% off season tix. Engage high schools, corporations...ditch the DJ... Have HFD start a twitter campaign... Whatever it takes, but UConn isn't working hard enough to sell the product or the program. They've just sat back and said "Here is your turd sandwich. Hey why aren't you showing up to eat it?"

All that, and the fans are going to be blamed for not showing up? Herbst and Ward and P and GDL need to look in the mirror before any fingers are pointed at the fans.

In general, Wins bring the fans out, not the other way around. The weather doesn't help either. I would love to see what attendance would be like at a middling SEC school if their late season games were basically just being played for pride and a bowl bid to the annual Who Gives a Rat's Ass Bowl in 25 degree weather.

Too late... Already called out and it's not just football.
