So, we recently had the eminent All-Time Teams.
Let's turn our attention to the more frivolous "greatest sounds fans make". All players from anywhere are eligible, though best if we'd likely heard of them.

My vote is for a UConn player. Can you hear the fans harmonize on BEARUUUUUUUUUUBAY?
(Carla Berube mid 90's)

One of the most memorable is not for a UConn player"
Booooooooooooooooo

Well, it was for one Dina Taurasi at Cameron. orVol land. Diana: :
" I thought they were mooing".

That's why, as an athlete, it's always good to have a nickname like Boog or Moose. That way there is no way to boo you.

You forgot the rest of that cheer.

"Booooooooooooo Radley, Kill that Mockingbird." Used against the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

Normal cheers? i like the U...C...O...N...N... UCONN...UCONN...UCONN

i hate the UCONN...HUSKIES... blah blah cheer. it always ends up with one person screaming the "UCONN"part and it never seems to roar as much as the first cheer. but fans seem to like the UCONN...HUSKIES one better since it's done more often...

Oh, and the o-ver-rate-ed chant. Always a highly entertaining thread on this forum after UConn students do it to Duke or A&M or whomever.

My favorite worst cheer occurs at Madison Sq. Garden, Ranger hockey games. The entire section chants comments in unison about patrons traversing the aisle in front of the section. Example: "Nice duck*ing sweater, Nice duck*ing sweater." It's a tough crowd.

I used to love cheering for Mookie Wilson at the good old Shea Stadium . . . Mooooooooookie!!!!

Metsies are off to a 3 game winning streak BTW:)

When I was in high school, we had a sometime-unruly cheering section that prided itself in being tough on the refs. One of our more memorable cheers to protest what we perceived as a bad call was:
"Munch, munch, munch,
the ref brought his lunch
eat it, ref, eat it."

I'm not sure if students could get away with that one anymore.

I have been at 9 different games that UConn was not playing and still heard UConn or Huskies cheers or fans just yelling Geno. All of those games were against Delaware, 8 were the fans trying to distract Elena Delle Donne while the other was Delaware playing Northeastern who are also the Huskies. In most of those games I realized it was the best cheers the opposing team made all night by cheering for a winning team.
I was one of the few fans who saw UConn play the Washington in Cancun in which all the fans were rooting for the Huskies.

I have no use for the over-rated chant, not for any reasons related to the other team. My thing is simply that, if they are over-rated (and remember, you only chant this to teams you expect to have difficulty beating) then your victory wasn't so very much after all. I prefer to think they were correctly rated and my team was BETTER.

The chant I do like (and miss) is "warm up the bus". The equivalent here in AZ "start the bus" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Back in the day when Amy Duran was on the team the crowd would chant 'Amy doesn't foul!' whenever she got called for one. I thought it funny and cool.
