Can't read too much into exhibition games but saw these box scores which were interesting:

Mississippi State won 97-62, but trailed 17-13 after 1 and was only up 35-29 at half. Anriel Howard had 23/11, McCowan came off the bench and played just 16 minutes.

Notre Dame rolled in their game...no Mabrey, Ogunbowale didn't shoot well, Turner had a good comeback exhibition game.

Oregon State won theirs easily. Slocum had a good first game (13 points/7 assists), and 6-8 Joanna Grymek had a good shooting game (15 points on 6-8 from the floor). If Rueck can get production from his trees, look out.

Texas won theirs after struggling in Q1. Charli Collier led the way with 21/11 on 8-9 shooting. Danni Williams had a pretty mild stat line for 29 minutes.

South Carolina was also challenged, first half was close before blowing the game open for a 100-62 win. Te'a Cooper led the way with 20 points but took 18 shots. 7-30 shooting from 3 as a team. No sign of Alexis Jennings, Staley said she was out with ailments but has been practicing.

Ohio State won their exhibition game 72-50...Makayla Waterman is the only name I recognized in the box score.

Maryland won both of their games easily. Highly touted Shakira Austin had 29/10 and 15/11 off the bench in both. Haven't heard a ton of hype about her aside from her high ranking, but I'll definitely be following her this year.

Baylor rolled in both games. Massive statlines for several of their freshman.

Everyone's favorite, Tennessee, plays tomorrow.

I'm curious, did they all play the same opponent?

Ha. Didn't think it was worth the effort to list a bunch of teams no one here will know anything about. Any of the top 10-15 teams should theoretically cruise against D2/D3 programs.
You have that right. I take it all back. Let the unnamed remain so.

I have learned that the bigs tend to dominate in these games and put up huge numbers, because they are simply too tall/physical for these non DI posts to guard.

So... Any of the top 11-20 teams might have a hard time against the tope D2 teams? I agree. Basically NCAA D1 WBB is about 10-15 teams deep. Beyond that it's garbage time.

Austin had 18 points (on 7-17 shooting) and 14 rebounds in the Jordan Brand Classic in the spring. She looked like the most college-ready big on the floor. She was the strongest and most aggressive. I expect her to be an impact player soon. I think Liv has a higher ceiling, but Austin looked more ready in April.

She also was the most obvious black hole on the court. If she was to get an assist this season it would be by mistake lol . The girl has talent though just not much of a team player from what i saw . Maybe Brenda has changed that , but im only judging from 2 games in HS i viewed. She will be ACC player of the year in one of these 4 seasons though i believe.

I watch both BU games obviously and some of the Texas game.

Baylor played the new player's a lot. With 12 on the roster and 6 being new it's like we have a whole new team. Smith looked the most consistent between the two games. Egbo & Honesty had better nights in game 2 rather than game 1. DeCosta was in a boot during game 2 and did not play. Jackson looked good, Bickle is hard worker. Kim is trying to figure out her groups and who to play the point.

Texas game I am not sure what was going on. Think Williams could have used more looks. Collier looked good just needs time to be polished. Patterson didn't play much which surprised me. Texas has some good players I think losing Joyner has kinda thrown a kink in their plans like it did for BU losing Morris. So I think they are figuring out the roles of each player.

I just want no injuries in tonight's game.

I think I can see it on WatchESPN (with ESPN+ allowing my connection to SECN+)

a interesting fact about Kamera Harris. She broke the single season HS record for blocks . That was previously held by Griner.

I saw the first game and Austin will look for her shot often. She did make a really pretty pass to Blair Watson for a wide open layup. You may have to take her performance with a grain of salt. The two teams Maryland played had no player over six feet tall. The first game, that team is favored to win their 18 team conference so that was a solid test. Maryland fans will know more about Alston and the rest of the team after playing a really good Dayton team on Sunday.

I watched a bit of the Mississippi State game. Vic sort of played the game backwards by starting the bench and progressively working in the starters. McCowan sat the whole first half against the D2 Final Four team they played. The starters were a bit too much for the game to be competitive. MSU put up 62 in the 2nd half.

As predicted, the 3-ball isn't a big part of the offense. MSU only made 4 on their way to 97 pts.

Oregon crushed Alaska-Fairbanks 115-36 tonight. Technically, this wasn't an exhibition game, since it was in Alaska and not on the Duck's home court, but it should have been, so I've listed it here. (It was scheduled to give Ruthy Hebard a return home.). 7 players in double figures, led by Satou Sabally with 23 points. Ionescu had another triple double--18 pts. (7-9), 11 rebounds, and 12 assists.
