Shocking stat to me is MoJet with 3 assists and 3 TO's. She might improve on that ratio b4 the NCAA tournament.

The only I can think of was last year's parade.

And the fact that there's 9 better players than her on the roster.

We know what we had already in Stewie, KML, and Moriah. Stokes, Chong, Nurse, Morgan, Gabby, and Ekmark all did things out there that answered questions and really will make this team tough to beat.

John A with his thoughts about the game with a few noted below:

The most interesting player of the day, at least for me, was freshman Gabby Williams. Geno Auriemma is using her as forward, taking advantage of her great athleticism to help fill a big void in terms of depth.

I look at freshman guard Kia Nurse, who scored 12 points, and I see a young Kara Lawson. When I told her that after the game, she sheepishly admitted that she didn’t know who Lawson was. This confirmed I am old.

Whatever was going on with Saniya Chong at the end of last season, whatever sapped the confidence that made her game fade after Christmas, seems to have left her body like an evil spirit. Auriemma is raving about her.

I had interesting seats: UConn fans on one side - West Chester fans (relatives) on the other.
Everyone was impressed with MoJett! One of the WC fans said "She's like a comet!"
UC fans were really pleased with Saniya and Kiah in particular as people had questions going in. Tuck looked a bit out of rhythm and not real effective. General agreement that Nurse looked the most comfortable of the frosh, but pleased to see positive things from others and the different combos. People were hoping for more options off the bench this year.
And UC fans loved that TLaw and Pulido scored!
Oh yeah - and Stewie showed no signs of a problem, played quite a bit and led the sprint to the locker room after the game.

Yup, that's the 7 rotation. A thing of beauty. But the announcers say that Williams is looking terrific too. Can anyone see her?
Check her stats..compare to all other freshman.Rebounds/points/steals???18 min.

One of the most interesting sights of the day was how Auriemma used guard Gabby Williams, the athletic 5-foot-11 track and field standout from Nevada who has recovered nicely from her second knee surgery.

"The only time I did that in high school was the progression that followed having a smaller player guard me," said Williams. "This is the first time I've actually played post. And it's weird to say 'forward' when someone asks what my position is."

Gabby had a bunch of boards and was called for "over the back" a couple of
times, I think. Without having actually seen her it sounds like, even post-ACL,
she has some serious ups. (like a pre-ACL Kalana Greene)

Gabby is going to be fun to watch for the next four years. :)

All of this occurred against a short talent-poor team. The Stanford game
should give us a better idea of what's what and who's who.

Was there a time when both Saniya and Kia were in with Mo? For me today's story was about Saniya and Kia. If they both continue on this trajectory the flexability of this team gets beyond scary (both can play 1-3). Luvin' it.

Brother, it's WCBB season. Not a blessed thing I'm not luvin' right now.

I agree with Rebecca. Kiah Stokes is a very talented player.

I also noticed how much Geno was coaching during this blowout game. Every timeout he was animated - talking and gesturing and writing. He used all the time. The other team would be on the floor but he was talking until the horn blew!
