And what exactly was Whaler responding to?

So I should feel o.k. with people taking shots at me for expressing an opinion because they don't like what Whaler does? Seriously?

I'm done with the discussion however. It is not one worth having, and not one I would have participated in today if I wasn't cranky about the ND announcement.

I want blood in Maryland this week as much as anyone. Why else would I invest the time and money in driving down.

But do I get sick and tired of being told I won't let something go when at least 90% of my comments on it are in response to what someone else says? Yes. Sue me.

I don't have the patience required to sue you and your bend but don't break legal defense tactic. :)

Whaler, did you even like Edsall? Or are you bringing this up for no other reason than to stir the pot?

LOL. Just saw what P said on Twitter and was wondering why he wasn't skewered Saturday for blaming the players like Edsall always was.

Clearly the 'concept' of 'consistency' is tough for some around here.

The phrase never bothered me much (with 2 glaring exceptions being after the UNC punt block game and the Tim Brown game), but maybe I can offer some explanation.

Every coach says it ("we didn't execute"). Edsall's refrain was to say that (or a version of it) and little more, as if he didn't want to be bothered. P has offered some further explanation, e.g. explaining what McCombs might be doing or could do differently. He just seems to offer a bit more detail based on what I read.

We've also seen quotes from P and staff like "we need to find more creative ways to run the ball", things that indicate their willingness to try to change what they are doing if what they're doing isn't working (though we don't know whether that will happen or not in practice).

I also think that a lot of it had to do with Edsall's general awkwardness and attitude towards the media.

If P keeps it up, and doesn't show any ability to adapt on the field, people will tire of it just as some did with Edsall.

Im with Jimmy Edsall, I don't know what shots anyone has taken at him lately but whatever. He s at his dream job which clearly wasn't UConn.
