So P has said this 4 different ways since Saturday with today's: we need to execute better.

Where is the outrage?

While I agree, I just don't think it's his style. Someone however does need to light a fire under the O because they are like watching paint dry. The only one to me that has demonstrated that on the current staff is Don Brown, he'll get into his guys from what I've seen. Honestly I would probably find it funny if Deleone or P were in my face, one guy can't stand up straight and would look like he'e tearing my stomach a new one, and the other can't close his mouth due to his teeth so the spit would be a flyin!

I could well be wrong here but I think he is questioning the lack of outrage from the boneyard on the execute better comment.

PP's predecessor was lambasted here every time he used execution (more specifically, lack thereof) as an excude. If PP is using the same excuse, those who lambasted his predecessor should also be lambasting him (if they were truly objective).

You are not wrong here.

I worked my way through college as a carpenter and my boss (when someone was using the wrong tool for the job) had an expression: "You can try using a screwdriver as a chisel and you may even get the job done, but more often than not you won't. If the job requires a chisel use a chisel".

It would be nice (and likely better for the football program and fan base) if the offensive gameplan was tailored to our personnel.

I seem to remember most of the "outrage" with FHCRE being around:

1) getting punts blocked like crazy
2) not having a dedicated ST coach
3) FHCRE using "execute better" in that sense.

It's not quite as egregious here, unless you seriously believe DeLeone could be fired during the year (I don't).

No you are correct, but I refuse to participate in whinng about what our former coaches speeches and comparing him to what our current coach says, I'm more concerned with the here and now and getting it fixed, so I went a different direction with it! Consider it an attempt at not having yet another FHCRE thread (although some may still choose to).

Our scheme doesn't fit, I think we have seen a large enough sample size to come to that conclusion. Now do they have the guts to make the changes necessary for the team? Wisconsin certainly did! Houston's OC resigned (albiet probably forced). Time will tell and we don't have much of it to spare.

I'll basically repeat what Fishy said in another thread since I agree with him.

I think that Pasqualoni is honestly a good guy that runs a clean program. I think that Edsall ran a clean program, but I always thought that he was a pompous, conceited balloon knot, so constantly deflecting the blame to unpaid college athletes was a little harder to take.

I don't care what either say or said. Was just pointing out the disconnect.

There is no disconnect. P won't have the leash the Edsall had with Herbst and Warde in town. If he is consistently mediocre as Edsall he won't last long. If he is worst, he will get fired shortly. That said we're a year and two games in to P's tenure. Randy sang that tune for how many years?

I find funny that those that took such displeasure with the Randy bashing are always bringing him back up. I thought the mantra was to "move on"?

I honestly have a feeling we're going to hear that a lot in the Game Thread this weekend...

You may want to look up the word disconnect. My point had nothing to do with the AD or President. I'm talking about right here.

Again there is no disconnect. If in another 8 years, like Edsall, he is talking about "we told the kids exactly what to do and they just didn't execute", rest assured he will be taken to task. Hell he is being taken to task already on the board for the crap offense we saw on Saturday. P needs to figure out the offense real quick, he will not have immunity like Edsall to say and do whatever the hell he wants, with no accountability.

Good God.

Some Apologistas still want to pick fights with the anti Edsall crowd this week?

You have to remember, it is the anti-Edsall crowd that feels jilted, and can't let go. We have need to constantly bring up Edsall and point to "disconnects". We are hurt he left us for his "dream" job.

LOL. Just saw what P said on Twitter and was wondering why he wasn't skewered Saturday for blaming the players like Edsall always was.

Clearly the 'concept' of 'consistency' is tough for some around here.

The definition of "leave it alone" around here is that people on one side of an issue should not just not raise it, but not respond to threads from the other side that bring it up. It's an amazingly assinine position. Akin to your older child caught hitting his younger brother and saying "it all started when he hit me back."

This is a week that the anti Edsall crowd is going to thump their chests and rip the guy to shreds. They want blood this weekend in MD. And you what? The Apologistas should join them in that regard instead of starting threads either meant to denigrate our current coach or not so subtlely defend our former coach (or a combination of those two). F Edsall.

And I say this is a former Apologista.

I want blood in Maryland this week as much as anyone. Why else would I invest the time and money in driving down.

But do I get sick and tired of being told I won't let something go when at least 90% of my comments on it are in response to what someone else says? Yes. Sue me.

And what exactly was Whaler responding to?
