As Pheesa closes in on what might be a Rookie of the Year season in the WNBA, I thought one final look at Collier's UConn career stats might be in order. The only thing more impressive than her final stats was just how quiet & undramatic a path she took to the top level of Uconn's career leader board in points, rebounds, and blocks. Four years of steady, relentless work in the lane put Collier in rare company. Consider: 1. Points - Napheesa is 3rd all-time at UConn with 2,401 points. Only Stewie (2,676 pts) and Maya (3,036 pts) scored more points for the Huskies. Collier is ahead of such greats as Tina, KML, Diana and her buddy Katie Lou. She led the team in scoring Sophomore, Junior and Senior seasons. 2. Rebounds - In perhaps her most amazing statistic, Napheesa gathered enough rebounds to place 4th all-time with 1,219 boards. She had more rebounds than Stewie, who is 5th at 1,179. As an undersized forward, usually guarding a taller opponent, Collier used long arms, great leaping ability, and impeccable timing to dominate the glass. Only Tina, Maya and Rebecca finished with more rebounds than Napheesa. 3. Blocked shots - Collier's 251 blocks places her 7th all-time and just 3 behind Stef Dolson for the 6th spot. Those ahead of her all had superior height (Stewie, Rebecca, Kara, Kiah and Tina) but Napheesa made up for that with instinct and determination. 4. Perfect attendance - Collier dressed for 150 games at Uconn and played in every one of them. She never missed a game and started 121, including 9 her freshman season. Her career record in those 150 games was 145-5. 5. Other stats - Pheesa did much more than score and rebound. She also finished with 373 assists, 230 steals, and 368 made free throws. While not her strong suit, Collier did hit 61 three-point shots at Uconn. Overall, her 986 baskets left her with a 61.3% shooting % from the field. That is outstanding..!! Players don't come more well rounded than Napheesa Collier. Her two All-America seasons (2017, 2019) were sandwiched around a 2nd team All-American year (2018). Geno summed it up best when he said, "Her motor never stops, not even for one play." Go UConn..!!
