  1. The Lions stayed close early with some surprisingly good shooting from three.
  2. Early on, Reibe couldn't seem to get the ball in the hole from 2 feet. Might've been because he was getting hacked, pushed and grabbed every time he got the ball inside. But after three early misses from close, he settled in and only missed one other shot for the rest of the game.
  3. 7:23 mark in the first half -- IMO, the best play of the season so far. Demary dives on a loose ball, dumps it to Stewart who immediately fires a pass downcourt to hit a streaking Solo in stride. Solo went up from the foul line for the dunk on the run. Just prefect basketball.
  4. We suffered what's becoming an all too predictable run by the opponent early in the 2nd half. Thankfully, Karaban put an end to it pretty quickly.
  5. Not sure if it was a planned strategy or not, but there were a string of possessions in the 2nd half were it seemed like we allowed ETAM to pack the lane with bodies, then drew them out and sent the ball to a wide open man under the hoop for an automatic, unguarded layup.
  6. Mullins has one of the quickest catch and shoot releases I've ever seen. When he gets the ball where he wants it, it's like the catch and the shot are one unified motion.
  7. Gotta give the officials credit for not interfering too much with the flow of the game. As usual, they got pickier in the 2nd half, but overall, it was one of the better officiated games I can recall. 25 fouls and 26 FTs between the two teams.
  8. Reibe was our only starter to miss a FT.
  9. Once again, Our 3pt shooting was nothing to write home about. Four of sixteen for 25%. We shot 52% overall from the field. Without the threes and we were at 73% (30 of 41).
  10. We pretty much won every stat column: 12/7 OBoards, 27/20 DBoards, 6/2 steals, 17/11 dimes, & 6/13 turnovers. Only exception was blocks, which were even at 4@.
  11. We built enough of a lead to share the fun along the bench, as 13 Huskies saw the floor and 10 scored.

I want to see them taking a lot more time on 3 point attempts. If they are contested and the defender closes down on Solo and Alex, then fine, drive around them every time. The fast shooting 3 is not good for either of them (though Solo shot better last night). Slow things down please.

Ah, but Mullins is a whole different animal. The less time he takes between receiving the ball and putting it up, the higher his percentage. Alex is usually pretty good with the quick shot off a catch too. Not as quick as Mullins, but pretty damned quick. But when it's a 3 pt attempt off the dribble, he seems to have to be more deliberate and take his time.

Mullins is quick with his shot, but the ball has touch on it. Karaban and Ball seem to really fling that ball at the rim, it gets there fast.
