ESPN trying to control NCAA women basketball rights

ESPN bought rights to the women's NIT equivalent and wants to keep the women's NCAA tournament. Doesn't have any impact on realignment because it's only post season. And women's basketball has an infinitesimally small impact on realignment in general

The tournament value at $81 million would seem like it could be a source to help the disparity in spending between the men's and women's tournaments. Regardless, title IX requires that the athletes be treated equally at either tournament.

Not sure how this will impact realignment but it will since we have the number one women's basketball program in the nation.

SMDH at broadcasting most of this on ESPN+.
I’m a WCBB fan but ain’t no way I’m paying to watch #50 vs #100, in a sport where the drop off in quality is still fairly steep.

And given that most of the non-top teams get mediocre attendance at best, I’m not sure who else is going to watch.

They should’ve tried to build an audience and then moved to E+ in a few years.
