ESPN Sweet 16 Predictions

Really interesting -
SC, MD sort of expected to be unanimous choices given the 10/12 seeds they are facing.
Uconn no real surprise as a unanimous pick
But Washington and FSU I hadn't expected - Miss St with their lineup change is scoring freely, something that doesn't exactly go hand in hand with 'SEC' and they have bigs and defensive intensity that should at least challenge Washington. And FSU hasn't looked like an immovable force toward the end of the season.
And Baylor not being unanimous vs, Louisville is maybe giving Jeff and history a little too much credit?
The other two games I expected to be pretty well pick'em with Turner's injury shifting a little away from ND.

Interesting. Five unanimous (5-0) picks, one 4-1 split, and two 3-2 splits.

I too am surprised at Washington being 5-0, despite the fact that I think they win.

Eric and I discussed this the other night. We list the most likely to win as UConn, Baylor, and Maryland. We think a few of the games are 50-50 or maybe 55-45.

I think both Louisville and Oregon have a chance.

Mississippi State, too.

Watch the replay of their (lack of) effort against us, a year ago in Bridgeport
I soured on this team; perhaps the most over-rated in the land.
I don't care how many games they won.

They had open shots on the first 2 possessions, but missed. Their next open look might have come in the second half. It snowballed quickly. I think it was a 62-12 halftime. :)

Two fairly close games. Notre Dame (without Turner) vs Ohio State and Stanford vs Texas. Both games within about 5 points either way. I favor both Notre Dame and Stanford based on the coaching.

I think Oregon State has a chance.
Love being the underdog! Underdog is here to save the day! The one thing the OSU Beavers have going for them, is that they have been in so many close games, I don't think they will crack in the last minute (if the last minute becomes important).

I think OSU wins this game. I've not been impressed with either team's offense this season but IMHO OSU's defense will get the job done. 5-4 Oregon State, taking the decision on an infield single in the bottom of the ninth.

I predict ND - OSU ending in the high 80s (N88 - O82) and Texas - Stanford being in the high 70s (T77 - S75.)

Unless they're shooting at a very high percentage, I don't see Ohio State scoring
enough against a good ND defense to keep up with ND scoring a bunch against
a not very good Ohio State defense. Notre Dame by double digits.

Not that I'm much of a fan of Ohio State's style of play, but I think that the bigger the game the better defense they play. Motivation. Asia Doss is an excellent and diligent one-on-one defender. They can apply full court pressure and have a couple of shot blockers. Plus, much of the reason that OSU gives up a lot of points is that their offense is quick, increasing the number of possessions in the game. I see this as a close game, with OSU as only a small underdog. Mitchell is the wildcard, able to either shoot them into the game or out.

I think the OSU has a better chance since Turner won't be protecting the paint.

I have no idea.... so I'm gonna go with ND here.

They're going to the elite eight, so I don't think they're overrated. I'll be shocked if they beat Baylor.
