Each of these are special in their own way of course. I've felt for years the 2016 team is the best of all time with 2002 (and the 1998 LVs) being incredibly close. 2003 was generally unexpected until later in the season. 2025 and 2013 both saw some rough patches but righted the ship in dominant fashion on their way to the titles.

Shuffle, cut the deck and deal. The result will be the same. My personal favorite is the 2000 victory. As I recall, it was after that game that Pat Summit entered the UConn locker room to congratulate the team and said “Ladies, I’ve never seen anything like it”. Pat was the epitome of class after a championship loss.

I'm sorry but I think 2016 has to be at the top. That year was just pure annihilation. I don't really think anybody thought they had a hope of stopping Stewie, Mo, and Tuck.

Then I'd go with 1995 at 2 because it was the beginning of a dynasty.

I think the ESPN rankings are resaonable. It did make me go back and look at our records in the mid-2010s; the Stewart-Collier years. wow. From mid-March 2013 (our loss to ND in tthe BE title game, to December 2019 we played 207 games and lost only 3 games and those were in overtime. 204 wins without a regular time loss; with win streaks of 47, 111, 36, and 10.

38 in 2014-15 title with an ot loss in Stanford in game 2
38 in 2015-16, undefeated title
36 in 2016-17, ot loss in final four
36 in 2017-18, ot loss in final four

2014 was my favorite as well:
the championship final in Nashville was a massive showdown between undefeated UConn and Muffet McGraw's undefeated Notre Dame;
UConn's win gave them 9 national titles, breaking the tie with Tennessee for most NCAA titles all time;
and Nashville's Final Four court was among the most beautiful of all the FF courts I've witnessed.

There have been 10 undefeated seasons in WBB. Texas, TN, Baylor and S. Carolina with 1 each. UCONN with 6. So yes, UCONN has more undefeated seasons than all 350+ NCAA WBB programs combined.

I like that 2025 is middle of the pack. The tournament margin of victory. 3 wins over 1 seeds. They deserve to be that high. They are not 12/12. And I am glad ESPN realized that.
