ESPN might be wrong on the ejected players

I texted a ref friend in PA who refs NCAA games and ask him if players rush the court from the bench and are ejected from the game. What is the penalty for the next game?.......He said, off the top of his head they must sit out the next game......This case will be judged by the NCAA on Tuesday or Wed.......I hope the players are allowed to play..........Stay tuned!!

The were quoting the rule book. Your friend probably refs the gentlemen's games. Diff rules

I believe the rule is the same for the men. If a player leaves the bench but does not participate in a fight, they are ejected but not suspended. I looked through the rule book for 10 mins and could not find anything different. I think the rule is different in the NBA though, and I'm sure that came to be after the malice at the palace.

It is interesting that the officials did not deem the altrication a fight though. If they had, Sims would be out for the next game.
