I don't want to start a tirade, and nowadays I don't think there is much danger of that...but I wondered what the pundits think of the ongoing coverage of the Lady V's on ESPN, last week, this week, weeks to come. I've never seen anything like it. What's the deal?

Building them up for the announcement of the resumption of the series?

IMHO, TN has always been a focal point on espn.com, halftime locker room videos, etc. That's fine if they want it, and you wonder if Geno has said, no thanks, we don't need the media circus. We are UConn, we do things a certain way.

.
I'd laugh if their whole media blitz fell on its face, in a Ball State redux spectacular fizzle this March.

The attention is noticable for sure. Last year, it was all about Pat's illness and rightfully so. This year it's about Warlick taking over.

Like it or not, they are a premier program that people want to read about.

Last year the "back stage" pass was Stanfords.

remember when UConn had "The Climb?"

Stanford was featured last year. This year, TN was selected. Next year, I would imagine they'd pick UConn or Notre Dame or a similar program that has history of success and a strong interest by fans. Hopefully, this is something they continue doing yearly with a different university. Fans complain about coverage of women's basketball, so at least ESPNW is doing something about it.

There is a nice article on Tyler.

Yeah, and the Clinton kid got her TV gig 'cause she was sooooooooo good. Guess the ol' girl's network allows kids (regardless of gender) of the "WE" group easy access to the club. Let the gals that have to start at the bottom eat cake.

Coach Mitchell hired him after talking with him on the phone. She said once she talked with him that she needed to hire him. Because of his knowledge of the game.

You can count me out as one of those people.

Certainly they were a premier program when they were regularly appearing in the Final Four. But with an absence going on five years, I would not call them a premier program currently.
